ERNEST "ERNIE" RAKES, 82, of Lavalette, WV, at his residence. Reared in Hinton, WV, by the late Andrew J. and Mattie Nottingham. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Effie Anderson Rakes, and a daughter, Connie Peters. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lilly Rakes; daughter, Shirley Blatt; three grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and sister, Ann Griscombe. Burial was April 4, 2006, in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington.
