Visitation and a gathering of remembrance will be held in the lobby of the Fredrick Hotel at 940 4th Ave. Huntington from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Bring and share your favorite David Lockwood stories with one another. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in David Lockwood's name to Kentucky Organ Donation Affiliates, 10160 Linn Station Road, Louisville KY 40223. Rejoicing in the life he lived is his adoring wife of 54 years, Carol Harris Lockwood; their two sons, Ashley M. Lockwood and Justin H. Lockwood; two daughters-in-law, Angela Blair Lockwood and Debbie Conner Lockwood; and four grandchildren, William Lockwood, Lauren Elizabeth, age 9, David Connor, age 4, and Sophia Iris, age 5. Also surviving is his son, David Jay Lockwood Jr. David was involved with many charities and charitable organizations that include but is not limited to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Little Victories and organ donation and transplant organizations. Aside from being widely considered to be among the very best attorneys of his generation, some of David's other proud accomplishments include being one of the founders of Table 10-A, a charter member and reigning president of "The Real Man's Club" and a benefactor of the "Greater Huntington Gourmet Society." David's life was one that was lived to its fullest. To those that knew and loved him, he was a larger than life cult of personality, with an unparalleled charisma whose presence dominated the room. He was extremely passionate, neurotically competitive and endlessly generous to friends and strangers alike. His passing leaves a void that can only be filled with the endless number of treasured memories, of stranger than fiction adventures and uncountable number of stories that would seem impossible for one man to have lived if given three lifetimes. An icon in the legal community, David's skill and reputation as a litigator is legendary, with a legacy of accomplishments few could hope to duplicate. David was a hero and role model to his sons, who admired their father with infinite awe and respect, understanding how unique and special this man was as an individual, and how fortunate they were to be his closest and most loved companions in his life. David was a man that conquered life with an overpowering force of will. An uncompromising individualist, he was loved by so many, possibly hated by a few, but unquestionably respected and revered by them all. Worked hard, played hard, lived hard, loved hard. Died happy.
