BRENDA DARLENE WEAVER, 57, of Fort Gay, WV formerly of Philippi, WV passed away Wednesday April 1, 2015 at the Three Rivers Medical Center following a brief illness. Brenda was born Oct. 7, 1957 at Philippi, WV the daughter of Sam and Emma Jean Strawderman Moore. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband Paul Weaver of Fort Gay, WV; a daughter Corissa Weaver also of Fort Gay; two sons Kevin and Scott Weaver both of Fort Gay, a sister Sandra Gribble of Philippi and a brother Larry Moore also of Philippi, WV; two grandchildren Aleah and Bradyn Weaver. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 4th at 1 p.m. at the Nesterville United Methodist Church at Philippi, WV with Rev. Bill Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery at Tacy, WV. ROBERT SCOTT, JR., 61, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born March 16, 1954 in Jenkinjones, West Virginia, a son of Elizabeth and Robert Scott, Sr. "Bobby" served in the United States Army and worked as a utility line installer. He will be missed by his friends Eddie and Amber Elbert, Jodi Banners, Lewis Motley, Mike and Deanna Keith, and Major Davis, all of Huntington. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Greenup County with military honors performed by VFW Post 93. Friends may call from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne.

NORA FRANCIS NICHOLS HAYES, 75, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at home. She was born April 19, 1939, in Wayne County, to the late Owen Walter and Mary Caldwell Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Hayes Sr. and a son Leonard Hayes. She is survived by four children, Mary Wilks of Kenova, Melvina Adkins of Chesapeake, Ohio, Juanita Hayes of Kenova, and Scott (Sherry) Hayes of Chesapeake, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio, by Victor Bragg. There will be no visitation. EVELENE RAMEY SMITH passed on April 2, 2015, at St Mary's Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Dorothy Wallace Ramey, a brother John Henry Ramey, a sister Garnet "Sue" Melvin, and the love of her life her husband Carl Hobart "Hobe" Smith Jr. She was born April 29, 1932, in Stilner, W.Va. She is survived by two sons, Hobart Michael "Mike" Smith and his wife Pamela, and Jeffrey Alan Smith and his wife Tawna "Shelly" Smith. She left three precious grandchildren, Kandace "Kandi" Smith, Jason Smith, Ernie Smith and his wife Kim and a great-grandson Kanen Smith. She is dearly loved and missed by many nieces, nephews and a special niece Sandy Fitz. Her two sisters Belverine Fitz and Madeline Ramey reside in Kenova, W.Va. Evelene is responsible for creating the famous "hot dog sauce" while she was with The Midway Drive Inn. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God by Rev. Paul Farley. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. PEGGY JANE SKEENS ULLOM of Ceredo passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Her graveside memorial service was held on Friday, April 10, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Peggy was a Christian, having been baptized for the remission of sins, in Twelve Pole Creek in 1943. She was a member of the Ceredo Church of Christ. She was born on November 5, 1927, to the late William Clinton and Effie Perdue Skeens and was a 1946 graduate of Buffalo High School. She managed the music stand in McCrory’s, later running her own highly successful music business in Silver’s. Peggy sold her business to devote her time to her family, and years later, embarked upon a second career as a cashier at B&B Food Market until its closing in 1987. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her one and only Carney; sisters Marian Osburn and Betty Billups; brother William C. Skeens Jr.; and great-nephew Darrell Lee Vanhoose. Surviving her are her son David, with whom she made her home; her son Danny Ullom; her daughter Jeanne Ann Ullom; former daughter-in-law Rebecca Bookwalter (Robert); grandson Travis Bookwalter; grandson of her heart, Ben Bookwalter; great-granddaughter Camryn Bookwalter; sister-in-law Lee Skeens; niece Vicki Cartmel (Tom); nephew Dr. W. Michael Skeens (Joyce); former nephew by marriage, Darrell Vanhoose; great-nieces Amanda Jones (Jeremy), Katelynn Menshouse (Justin), Suzanne Smith, Jacqueline Elkins and Jennifer Skeens; great-nephew Clinton Skeens; great- great-nieces Tabitha and Carleigh Smith; great- great-nephew Benjamin Elkins; beloved cousins Patty Lewis (Rodney), Billie Simmons (Bearl), Bea Skeens (Lee Nagel), Polly Smith and Marie Wright (Don); dear family members Judy and Gary Akers, Beverly Billups, Hazel Billups, Jim and Pat Billups and Helen Webb; and a very special niece Molly Osburn (Ed Wickliffe), great-niece Elizabeth Goff (Glenn), great- great-nephew Christopher Goff, and great- great-niece Kayla Goff. ALANNIA FAYE COOPER, 82, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Friday April 3, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born November 26, 1932 in Huntington, WV to the late Ty Bertis and Sylvia E. Chinn Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Cooper. She is survived by two daughters Delilah Mills and Tammy Cooper both of Proctorville; one son James Cooper of Huntington, WV; three grandchildren, William (Katie M.) Mills, Bert Mills, and Brandi (Ron) Dailey; two great grandchildren William Marshall Mills and Micaiah Jade Dailey; seven siblings, Aron (Nancy) Black, Betty Smith, Hobert Black, Mary Hodge, Al (Joan) Black, Sylvia Jean (Truman) Maynard, and Jack (Linda) Black; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Truman Maynard. READITH ANN FRALEY HUGHES, 62, of Wayne, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kendall Brainard officiating. Burial will follow in the Hughes & Carter Cemetery, Rowe Hollow Rd., Wayne, WV. She was born on February 10, 1953 in Huntington, WV, to the late Garnett Fraley Dowell. Readith was a homemaker and a member of East Lynn Baptist Church. She was very devoted to church and rarely ever missed a service. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by many. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her great grandparents Ida and Willie Fraley and an Uncle Lucian Fraley, Sr. Surviving is her loving husband William Ray Hughes, daughter Robin Hughes Frye and husband Roy, son Billy Joe Hughes and fiancée Rhonda Hodge, Sister Patricia Fraley, Aunt Charlotte Porter all of East Lynn, WV. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Cindy Stapleton and husband Ronnie, Tracy Cooley and Ray Cooley and one very special great grandson Ronald Austin Stapleton. LILLY (LILLIAN GAY) JOHNSON, 77, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She was born April 26, 1937, in Wayne County, the only daughter of the late Walter Stewart and Hope Lillian Perdue Cade and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Madie and Luchen Aliff. Her half-brother, Raymond Gene Cade and her stepmother, Martha, also preceded her in death. Lilly was retired from the Cabell County Board of Education, having worked at elementary schools throughout the county, and was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Glenn Johnson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory R. and Sheila Johnson of Huntington and Craig A. and Judith Johnson of Ucross, Wyo.; a grandson, Greggie (Gregory Stewart) Johnson of Huntington; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mildred Cade of Wayne; and special cousins Lowell and Lois Cade of Wayne. A registered story teller, Lilly enjoyed spending time with her friends, who were many, walking in Ritter Park, and volunteering her time among the church, schools, and libraries which were her loves. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with the funeral service at the mortuary at 11 a.m., Pastor Steven Hamrick officiating. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, following the service. VIRGINIA HENSLEY KUYKENDALL, 76, of Ceredo, wife of Gene Kuykendall, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015. She was born on February 12, 1939 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Bruce and Mabel (Hoskinson) Hensley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Hensley. In addition to her husband she is survived by sisters, Linda Mae Martin of Huntington and Connie Sue Evans of Walton, KY; brothers, Ronald, Anthony of Huntington and Ron Hensley of Oak Harbor, OH; nieces and nephews, Regina Lafferty, Valerie Carr, Patricia Hensley, Crystal Rose, Johnny Martin and Jeremy Martin; a host of great nieces and nephews; special friends Chet and Becky Florczak; and all of her church family. Virginia was a member of the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church and was a former member at Pleasant Valley Church where she served as the church treasurer and was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Salvation Army and sang with the Kings Highway Trio. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, 2014 at the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church, 417 Main Street, Ceredo, WV, at 7: 00 PM with Pastor Chris Day officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. A procession to Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock will gather at the church at 10:00 AM on Thursday morning. ROBERT JOHNSON BRADY JR. 76, of Fort Gay died April 4, 2015, at home. He retired from the U.S. Air Force. There will be private family services at a later date. Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova is assisting the family.

MARY ELLEN SHY, 80, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio. She is survived by three children, Cindy Dixon of Huntington, W.Va., Mark Bergquist of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Jon Bergquist and wife Missy of Huntington, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Melissa Reynolds of Huntington, Jessica Price and husband Matt of Pittsburgh, Pa., Andrew Bergquist of Morgantown, W.Va., and Ian Bergquist of Huntington, W.Va.; a great-grandchild expected in May; a sister Daphne McGregory of Olympia, Wash.; a brother Gilbert Wells and wife Shirley of Parma, Idaho. Mary is preceded in death by her husband George Shy. Mary received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Marshall University and worked as an RN at Cabell Huntington Hospital for 30 years. She was an active member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. RICKY DALE CAMPBELL, 60, of Clarksburg, WV, formerly of Lavalette, passed away Sunday April 5, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bob Hale. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born March 17, 1955 in Huntington, WV, a son of Betty Snider Campbell and the late Leroy Campbell. He was a former truck driver. In addition to his father Ricky was also preceded in death by a brother Leroy Allen Campbell. Additional survivors include a brother and sister in law Roger and Julie Cornwell; a sister and brother in law Mindy and Bernie Boyers; nieces and nephew Jeannie Campbell, Allen Campbell, Renee Carter and Dana Campbell and special friends Kim Kessell, Carol Wells, Cheryl Vance. Loving sister, LETTIE LOUISE WALKER, 59, of East Lynn, W.Va., left this world on Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was born July 1, 1955 in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Virgil and Margie Walker. Lettie loved life and was a big kid at heart. She enjoyed car shows, collecting stuffed animals, and visiting churches. Lettie brought joy and happiness to all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Elmer walker and his wife Ruth of Genoa, W.Va., and Kenneth Walker and his wife Donna of Branchland, W.Va.; and special sister Gladys Pauley of East Lynn; three aunts, Ella Fraley of Wayne, W.Va., Pearl Mae Eaves of Branchland, and Delphia Walker of East Lynn; nieces and nephews, Kim Ferguson of Branchland, Dreama Darst of Huntington, Donella Adkins of Ranger, W.Va., Amanda Carter and Shawn Walker, both of Wayne; and a host of special cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends. ROBERT FRANKLIN ELLIS ‘BOB’, 80, of Huntington, WV, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Larry Davis and Glen Penix officiating. Burial will follow at Arrowood-Dutton Cemetery, Wayne, WV. He was born on June 30, 1934 in Marytown, WV, to the late Wirt and Lynn Robinson Ellis. Bob was retired from Muth Lumber Company and was an Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Kathleen Davis, Caroline Lester, Gretice Milam, and Ellen Witten and brothers Edward, Connie, William, Klon Dyke and Paul Ellis. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Jo Damron Ellis, daughter Bobbi Ellis of Barboursville, WV, son Klon Ellis of Huntington, WV, two sisters Nellie Adams of Mansfield, Ohio and Sandra Arrowood (Flem) of Jonesboro, TN. Bob is also survived by his four grandchildren: Nicholas Tabor, Jodi Elkins (Ryan), Rian Finley and Jacob Ellis and two great granddaughters Lacey and Payton Tabor. DORIS JEAN EKERS, age 81, of Prichard, WV passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on November 19, 1933 in Shoals, WV; she was the daughter of the late James Major Ward and Florence Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Chester Ekers; her son, Ward Jeffery Ekers; two brothers, Basil and Tom Ward; three sisters, Bertha Ward, Lorraine Edwards and Edna Craft, and one grandson, Thomas V. Ekers. She is survived by her sister, Eugie Walters of Lebanon, IN; two sons, William (Donna) Ekers of Prichard and Nolan Keith Ekers also of Prichard; her daughter, Gaila Damron of Prichard; two special nieces, Karen Adkins and Valanie Edwards, both of Prichard; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Mt. Zion Church with Richard Childers officiating. GERALD ROBERT "JERRY" WILLIAMSON, 74 of Huntington, WV was received by the Lord, April 6, 2015 at Jo-Lynn Health Center in Ironton, OH. He was born in Huntington on July 13, 1940 to the late Gerald "Gurley" Williamson and Eulah Ward Williamson. He was a member of the Kenova Church of Christ. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1958 and attended David Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he returned to the area and worked for Huntington Allows from 1969 – 1972, he served as minister of the Williamson Area Church of Christ. He was also part owner of Giovanni’s Pizza in South Williamson, KY until 1977. He is best known for his contributions to bluegrass music. A founding member of the notable bands, Outdoor Plumbing Company and Redwing; he was also a highly respected audio engineer. Jerry performed on bass and Dobro and sang baritone. His assistance to young musicians was legendary, mentoring pickers who went on to play for nearly every top band in the genre. He also left behind a number of original songs in the bluegrass catalog, many recorded by top figures in the music. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Elaine Holman and a son-in-law, Christopher LeMaster. Gerald is survived by his son, Gerald Kevin (Debbie) Williamson of Murfreesboro, TN and daughter Kelley (Mark) LeMaster-Workman of Prichard, WV; two brothers Ted (Carol) and Daniel (Rebecca) of Kenova; five grandchildren: Melody, Kadence and Caroline Williamson, Ethan and Caleb LeMaster; three step-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cherished companion, DeAnna Darby of South Williamson, KY. A celebration of his life will be held at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ceredo, WV on Thursday, April 16th, 5:30 – 6:30 visitation/jam session, 6 – 7 remarks, 7:30 – 8:30 stories, pickin’ and hugs. BILLY JACK WELLMAN, 86, of Kenova passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 31, 1928 in Huntington, a son of the late Elzie and Bertha Plymale Wellman. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 66 years, Glenna McKeand Wellman. He was also preceded in death by one dear brother, Larry Wellman, three treasured sisters, Bernice (Ervin) Maynard, Betty (Don) Spence, and Carol Cisco, one sister-in-law, Wilma Nichols, two brothers-in-law, Joe Shy and Harland Allen, three nephews and three nieces. Bill had a tremendous impact on the Lavalette/Buffalo Community and Wayne County. He, along with a few others, formed the Lavalette Volunteer Fire Department where he served as the first Fire Chief. Bill was also the owner of a long time excavating company, Wellman Construction. He was instrumental in the Lavalette area obtaining city water and in the creation of the Lavalette Public Service District. He was the first Sheriff in Wayne County to hold office for two terms from 1976-1984. He then became a Wayne County Commissioner and retired from that job in 1987. After retirement, he was a vital part of the Bison Senior Citizen Center helping with many projects including a picnic shelter which was named after him. He was well known throughout Wayne County and was always true to his word. He was a member of the Garretts Creek Church of Christ and was also influential in the building of other churches in the area. He is survived by his four devoted children, three sons, Darrell (Debby) Wellman of Prichard, Rick (Pat) Wellman of Kenova, and Dale (Terri) Wellman of Elm Springs, Arkansas and one daughter, Patsy (Joe) Crisel of Kenova. He had eleven cherished grandchildren and seventeen precious great grandchildren. Four sisters-in-law, Wanda Wellman, Willa Allen, Alfreda ( Ronny) Wade, and Lillian Stephenson, two brothers-in-law, Paul Nichols and Chilton Cisco. He also leaves behind two special friends, David Pennington and Keith Ross and numerous treasured nieces and nephews. His children want to thank his four grandsons, Brian, Brett, Joey and BJ who provided medical care for him during his illness. Dad was a great man who worked hard to provide for his family but always loved a good laugh. We will miss him always but look forward to meeting him and mom again in Heaven. Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Evangelist Wyn Baker officiating. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. KATHY MICHELLE BOOTH, 55 of Huntington, WV went home to be with her Lord on April 10, 2015. She was born on July 18, 1959 in Lancaster, OH; a daughter of the late Howard Q. Plummer and Donna Marie (Jarrell) Plummer. Her enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life such as rock-n-roll music, a good book and dancing are just some of the many reasons Kathy will be missed. She is survived by her son Michael Charles Booth of Huntington , WV; her brother Ronald Douglas Plummer (Stacey) of Huntington, WV; her mother Donna Marie Plummer of Huntington, WV; nephew Jason Gillespie of Lansing, MI, niece Brooke Plummer of South Point, OH. Also surviving are two uncles, Bobby Jarrell (Beverly) of Florida and Millard Plummer of Fort Gay, WV along with several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. JEAN PRESTON PERRY, 86, of Fort Gay WV went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2015 at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. Jean was born June 5th, 1928, the daughter of the late Norman C. and Leta Jarrell Preston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter A. Perry in 2002. Also preceding her in death a daughter-in-law Helen Holt Perry, four sisters, Mabel, Dell, and Elizabeth Preston, her twin sister Anita Porter and three brothers Lawrence, Frank and John Preston. Jean was a lifelong member of Old Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for many years. She loved gardening, canning and working in her flowers. She was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed watching her wildcats play. Those left here to cherish her memory is her daughter Norma (Bob) Chiarenzelli of Paragould AR, six sons, Mile Perry of Paragould AR, Tony (Marilyn) Perry of Prichard, WV, Randy (Lisa) Perry of Huntington, WV, Herb (Harriet) Perry of Fort Gay, WV, Dennis (Rhonda) Perry of Wayne, WV, and Loren (Tracy) Perry of Fort Gay, WV. Two sisters, Louise (Albert J) Perry of Wheat Ridge CO and Wilma (Max) Wetherall of Barboursville, WV. Also 14 Grandchildren, Robbie and Evan Chiarenzelli, Kelly Perry, Seth Perry, Megan Adkins, Amy Coble, Heather Perry, Rachel Mullin, Emily Crawford, Madison Mills, Lauren and Ethan Perry, Corey and Chase Perry. Thirteen great grandchildren, Mike, Devon, and Sheldon Bruetsch, Killian, Ronan, Delaney, Rory, and Fiona Mullin, Madden and Jovie Coble, Matthew and Audrey Crawford and Cameron Adkins. ANNE ELIZABETH BRADLEY, 67, of Kenova, West Virginia, died Tuesday, April 10, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Neuro and Trauma Intensive Care Unit after a long, hard-fought battle with Parkinson's disease. Anne was born July 16, 1947, in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Pauline Woodall Lambert and Glen Ivan Lambert Sr. She was a retired 30-year employee of the Wayne County Board of Education having taught math at both Buffalo Wayne High School and Spring Valley High School. Anne was also a member of Madison Avenue Christian Church where she loved singing with her choir family. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Glen Ivan "G.I." Lambert Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years W.T. "Bill" Bradley III. She is also survived by her two sons, W.T. Bradley IV (Beth Bradley) of Scott Depot, West Virginia and Joshua Glen Bradley (Dr. Courtney Bradley) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving is grandson W.T. "Will" Bradley V of Scott Depot; sister-in-law Kitty Carver of Kenova; and mother-in-law Dorthy Bradley of Kenova. We want to thank her medical care team at HIMG including Dr. Thomas Dannals, Dr. William Beam, Kenny and Kim. We especially want to thank Dr. Ronald Barebo, neurologist, for his unrelenting service as he stood by Anne throughout her seven-year journey through the hells of Parkinson's disease. ROBERT DONALD MAYNARD, 76, of Prichard, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015. He was born December 7, 1938 in Kiahsville, W.Va., a son of the late Charley and Hester Maynard. Also preceding him in death was a sister Lorraine Boyd and a brother Billy Wayne Maynard. Bob was a member of the Fort Gay Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lillian Joyce Christian Maynard; a son, Perry Dale Maynard (Wendy); a daughter Donna Diane Copley (Mike); three grandchildren Kalinda Graham (Todd), Shawn and Mashea Copley; and two great grandchildren, Lauren and Landon Graham. Also surviving are six brothers, Leopold Maynard and Carl Maynard of Wayne, John C. Maynard and Arthur Maynard of Lavalette, Dover Maynard of Illinois, and Paul Maynard of Ohio. RONALD DALE PERRY, 77, of Millcreek Township, Millersburg, Ohio, died on Saturday, April 11, 2015, working on the farm he loved. Ron was born on August 23, 1937, at Tom’s Creek in Wayne County, West Virginia, in the log home in which his mother was born. He was the son of Andy Kern and Letha Lovell (Hale) Perry, and was the youngest brother of Gorman Kern Perry and Russell Samuel Perry. He was a graduate of the Class of 1955 at South Point High School, Lawrence County, Ohio. After Ron’s graduation and 18th birthday, he made his way to Brook Park, Ohio, where he gained employment at the Ford Motor Company Cleveland Engine Plant complex, eventually earning his journeyman’s card as a skilled tradesman in machine repair. Ron worked at the Foundry, Engine Plant #1, and Engine Plant #2 for forty-two (42) years at Ford until his retirement in 1997. In 1958, Ron married Flossie "Flo" Carol Salmons, to whom he was married for thirty-two (32) years. He had two sons with Flo, Zane Dale Perry and Corey Daniel Perry. In 1974, Ron, Flo and the boys moved from their farm in Lafayette Township of Medina County to their farm in Millcreek Township of Coshocton County. Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman and relished his times outdoors, including working on his beloved farm. He enjoyed playing the five-string banjo and making turkey calls of various types. Following his retirement from Ford, Ron spent countless hours tending to his farm, planting trees and caring for the property in an attempt to create a sportsman’s paradise. Ron’s final moments on this earth were spent planting trees on the property; however, as much as he loved his farm and the outdoors, Ron loved his family most of all. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. He is survived by two sons, Zane Perry of Virginia Beach, VA and Zane’s children, Brook Elizabeth (Peter) Orvis, Kathryn Ellyn Perry, Zane Dale Perry, Jr., Zachary John Perry, and Zoe Michelle Perry; son, Corey (Tania) Perry of Delaware, OH and their children, Coree Rae (Daniel) Harrison, Andrew Taylor Nesselroad, Nathan Dale Perry, Samuel Corbett Perry, and Raegan Kathryn Perry. Also surviving are countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. While all of his family grieves his loss, they are comforted by the countless memories of spending time with him hunting, camping, fishing and listening to his countless stories of growing up in the coal-laced mountains of West Virginia. Ronald will be remembered as a loving father, doting grandfather and trusted friend. DWAYNE SPENCE, 54, of Huntington, passed away at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House on Sunday, April 12, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on January 16, 1961 in Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert J. Spence and his nephew Sean Hayton. He is survived by his wife Rita Jean Conley Spence and his son Jason Spence of Huntington, WV. MACIL FARLEY, 87, of East Lynn, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. CHLOENETTE CHAFIN AMOS, 81, of Kenova, W.Va., died Monday, April 13, 2015 in the New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C. She was born June 17, 1933, in Williamson, W.Va., a daughter of the late Dorsey and Shirley Messer Chafin. Chloe graduated from Marshall College in 1954 and received her Master's from the University of Dayton in 1975. She spent her career in public education teaching English at Ceredo-Kenova High School, Logan High School and various other high schools throughout Ohio. Her final years were spent as a guidance counselor. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris Chun-Ming and one brother Lafe C. Chafin. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles E. Amos; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles C. Amos (Mary Jane) of Huntington, W.Va., and David G. Amos (Kelly) of Kenova, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Sarah Catherine Amos of Perrysburg, Ohio, Michael Dorsey Amos and Eliza Grace Amos, both of Kenova, W.Va., and one brother and sister-in-law, Robert G. Chafin (Alfredia) of Ceredo, W.Va. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Robert Bevin Chafin and his wife Beth and Robert Ray Millard and his wife Miriam and her beloved grand-nephew Lyle. SANDRA STUMP MOORE TOOTLE SPENCE, "SANDY," passed at home suddenly and unexpectedly April 14, 2015. Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband John Spence; mother Carrie (Lloyd) Stump; father James Stump; sister Sharon Wiles; and nephews Shane Kingery and Trent Wiles. She leaves behind her two beloved Boston Terriers, Annie and Benny; a daughter Jerri (Richard) Leist; a son Robb (Sarah) Moore; stepsons Bill (Karen) Moore and JK (Renee') Spence; stepdaughter Jennifer (Darryl) Pocock; granddaughter Kristen; step-grandchildren Becca, Camille, Michael, Heather, Darryl Jr., Marie, Amanda and Trista, as well as many friends and extended family. Sandy was born in West Virginia on October 9, 1945, and graduated from Wayne High School in 1963. Sandy always said, "I took advantage of the '3 R's,' reading, 'riting, and Route 23." In Columbus, she worked for Western Electric, Radio Shack, a print shop, and Artromick. In 1986, she found her passion in the air cargo industry. Sandy served proudly as an original Flying Tigers employee when operations began at Rickenbacker (LCK). Sandy also worked for FedEx and Evergreen but never lost her "love for Tigers." She received an opportunity of a lifetime to work with some of the "old Tigers team," including her mentor Ned Wallace, to start a new company, Polar Air Cargo. After 28 years in the industry, Sandy retired from Kalitta Air in 2014. She was tremendously respected by her peers, rising from a freight handler, to a loadmaster and ultimately station manager. A woman whose faith was an inspiration to all that knew her, Patsy departed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband William Floyd Mays; one son, John William Mays; sisters Peggy Jane Gallagher who was her twin, and Sue Perrine; and her mother and father-in-law, Roy and Thelma Cyrus Mays. Patsy is survived by her children Floyd (Christine) Mays of West Chester, Ohio, Karin (Mike) Dawson and Kathy (Paul) Billups of Ceredo, W.Va.; and her brothers Jerry (Pat) Pierce of Kenova, W.Va., and Jim Moore of Greensboro, N.C. THELMA GRAHAM WELLMAN, 89, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Thelma was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she was a homemaker, and a long standing member of the Freewill Baptist Church and a proud member of their Choir. LARRY B. THOMPSON, 77 of Huntington, WV died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Larry was born September 17, 1937 in Kenova, WV a son of the late Felix Benard and Mary Elizabeth Perdue Thompson. He was a retired Architectural Technician: sponsored by the National Professional Engineering Society, a veteran of the US Army, a Kentucky Colonel and an Admiral of the Cherry River Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Russell Yost. Those that survive him include his wife Sylvia Thompson, one son Randall Yost, and four daughters, Lorraine Jackson, Diana Gibson, Katharine Peterson and Kelli Brizendine. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters, Sharon Nicholas, Marsha Stewart, Phyllis Wilcox and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. CARL WAYNE BOOTHE, age 93 of New Carlisle died on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born the son of Randolph D. & Ida Jane (Dunn) Booth on January 2, 1922 in Wayne, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Kathleen Thelma Boothe, parents, and 10 siblings Bertha, Ardella, Estelle, Thelma, Arthur, Roy, John, R.D. Jr, Glenn, and Earl. Carl is survived by his loving daughter and son in law Sheree & Larry Lemke of New Carlisle, and several nieces and nephews. Carl retired from the United States Air Force after many years of loyal service to his country. Carl also proudly served his country in the Unites States Army. He served during WWII in N. MARSHALL LAWRENCE BRADLEY, 66, of Wayne, WV, passed away at home on Friday, April 17, 2015. He was born October 31, 1948 in Grand Rapids, Mich., a son of the late Luie Willett Bradley and Marie Louise Bradley Bear. His sister Phyllis McCarthy also preceded him in death. Marshall was a former employee of Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California. He was also a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and a life member of the VFW, DAV, AMVETS, and NAHC. He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Stella Bradley; two sons, Daryl Bradley and his wife Marlena of Wayne, and Timothy Bradley of Mich.; three grandsons, Anthony Bradley of Wayne, Brandon Bradley, and Benjamin Bradley, both of Mich.; a special sister, Julia Vance of Pennsylvania; and a host of friends and family. Funeral services were conducted at noon on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Roger Maynard and Leston Followay officiating. Burial followed in the Donel C. DILLARD LUCAS, 94 of Ranger, W.Va., passed away at home on April 17, 2015. He was born March 23, 1921, a son of the late Winfred and Lucy Frye Lucas. He was also preceded in death by his wife Dolly "Dee" Williamson Lucas; a sister Ella "Sis" Triplett; brothers Ferd, Chester, Charlie, Mack, Collie, Leonard, and Donald "Tiny" Lucas; son-in-law Eddie Scites; and daughter-in-law Tammy Rose Smith Lucas. He was an Army WWII veteran, a retired UMWA coal miner of Amherst Coal Company, a member of 14 Mile Church of Christ and a member of American Legion Post 111 of Hamlin, W.Va. WILBURN THOMAS ROSS, 65, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born August 17, 1949, in Stiltner, W.Va., a son of the late Allen and Mary Ross. One daughter, Tammy Stacy, also preceded him in death, along with a special cousin, Roger Lee Brooks. Wilburn was a 1969 graduate of Wayne High School where he was the 1st Pioneer mascot. He later served in the US Navy and was a retired truck driver. He also was a member of the Wolf Pen Church of Christ. He leaves behind one son, Wilburn "Tommy" Ross Jr. and his wife Lora of Chesapeake, Ohio; one daughter, Joyce Ann Canterbury of Pennington Gap, Va.; and two grandchildren, Thomas Steven Ray Ross and Kaetlyn Joyce Ross. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry Ross and his wife Cindy of Wayne, and Martin Ross of Ashland, Ky.; one sister, Nancy Frisby of Wayne, W.Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors too numerous to mention. MAXINE PORTER STUMP, who was deeply loved by her loving family, went to be with her Lord Saturday, April 18, 2015. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Elmer E. Stump of Kenova, W.Va. Maxine was born October 22, 1927, in Radnor, W.Va., a daughter of the late Vinson and Myrtle Wilson Porter. She was a graduate of Wayne High School and a member of Bethlehem Church of United Baptist. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Osborn and one brother, Elwood Porter. She is also survived by her beloved children, one son, David E. Stump of Kenova, two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon K. and Ed Mayle of Fairmont, W.Va., and Teresa L. Keller of Crofton, Md..; one sister, Lee Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio; her much loved grandchildren, Tonya Brumfield, Tina Malashevich, Tara Murdock, Shawn Robinson, Kaitlyn Keller and Allison Stump; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her loving neighbors. GREGORY ALLEN GILKERSON, 60, of Barboursville, W.Va., suddenly passed from this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was born on August 24, 1954, in Cabell County, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father John Lee Gilkerson III, his mother Adell Davis Gilkerson Adkins and his step-father Luther Adkins, and infant brother and sister Ronald Leon and Betty Mae. Greg graduated from Wayne High School in 1972. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, and retired from the 130th Tactical Airlift Group West Virginia Air National Guard as a SSGT during which time he was called to active duty for Operation Desert Storm. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in different positions all in the Operations Division, the last being at Dewey Lake, when he retired with nearly 32 years of service. He had previously worked at ACF Industries for 7 years. Greg leaves to mourn and cope with his passing the love of his life Roberta Gilkerson (Adkins); his son Gregory Allen Gilkerson Jr. and wife Amanda; his daughter Jennifer Gilkerson Sutphin and husband Jody; granddaughters Dedra Gilkerson and Brianna Sutphin; grandson Gavin Gregory Gilkerson; and great-granddaughter Jade Gilkerson; sister and brother-in-law Melva and Rard Adkins; brothers and sisters-in-law John Lee and Sandra Gilkerson; and Jesse Dale and Sandra Adkins, nieces and nephews, cousins, and host of friends. He is survived by two sisters, Bonnie (Larry) Adkins of Ranger and Ruby Smith of Ranger; one brother, Rev. Darnell (Linda) Cyfers of Harts, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Linda Sue Cyfers of Ranger; six nieces, two nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews, one great-great-nephew; and a host of family and friends. HUBERT BENJAMIN "BEN" ALLEY SR., age 82, of Prichard, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Ben was born February 16, 1933, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph W. and Mollie Greer Alley. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he worked as a flight service technician. Ben was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. In honor of his service the Military Honor Guard of American Legion Post #93 Kenova will conduct graveside rites. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Inez Hoback Alley, a son Hugh Alley, sisters Ruby Shoemacher, Garnet Hampton and Opal Coy and a brother John Alley. Ben was a member of the Ceredo Church of Christ and will be sadly missed by his church family. He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Bookwalter of Huntington, W.Va.; one daughter-in-law, Marlene Alley of Prichard, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Jon (Jennifer) Alley, David (Kendra) Alley, Travis Bookwalter, Mariko Alley and Ben Bookwalter; two great-grandchildren, Camryn Bookwalter and Jackson Alley; his twin brother Joe Alley of Ceredo, W.Va., and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to special caregivers Travis, Ben, Angie, Karen and the staff at The Wyngate at Rivers Edge; the staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 30, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 1, 2015 at noon at the Ceredo Church of Christ with Minister David Roach officiating. Mr. Alley will be taken to the church one hour before the service. HARVEY STACY, 50, of Kermit, West Virginia passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born on June 6, 1964 in Mingo County to Mary Lou Jude Stacy and the late Millard Stacy. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Stacy. Harvey is survived by three brothers, Ricky Stacy of Lovely, Kentucky, Denver Stacy of Crum, West Virginia and Jamie Stacy of Kermit, West Virginia and three sisters, Sara Howard, Merky Jude both of Pilgrim, Kentucky and Doris Hayes of Matwan, West Virginia. Funeral services were held at the Buck Branch United Baptist Church on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Buddy Stacy and David Stacy officiating. Burial followed at the Stacy Cemetery in Kermit, West Virginia. Friends called at the church on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 after 4 p.m. and all day on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky.

HELEN LEE GILKERSON, 86, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Crum, WV passed away Wednesday April 29, 2015. Helen was born in Crum, a daughter of the late Tobe and Bessie Marcum Gilkerson. She had lived in West Palm Beach for many years. She is survived by daughters, Rita A. McClelland, Judith L. Wall, Vera D. White, Elaine Schwenk, Aileen Johnson, Janis M. Senger and Janet L. Little; sons, William F. Johnson, James C. Johnson, Ronald D. Johnson, Toby A. Johnson and Jerry D. Johnson. Her legacy lives on with her 30 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Emily E. Bellomy. Helen loved her family and she will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. Funeral services will begin immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with her son-in-law, Jim White officiating. WILLIAM NEACE, 79, of Ranger, W.Va, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Burial will follow at the Lane Cemetery, Kiahsville, WV. He was born on September 4, 1935 in Wewanta, WV, to the late John Henry Neace and Emma Mable Hicks Neace. Haskell was an upholsterer for Fleetwood GM Corporation and was an Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Della Lane Neace, infant twins, Nolan Joshua Neace and Wanda Jean Neace, two brothers Bernie and Darel Neace, two sisters Lola Potts and Eula Gene Clair, and four infant siblings, Dora Belle, Chester Warren, Taylor Ray and Jerry Lee Neace. He is survived by his two daughters Emma Canterbury and husband George of Breeden, WV, Phyllis Ferguson and husband James of East Lynn, WV, four sons William John Neace, Vinson Neace and Kevin Neace all of Kiahsville, WV and Mark Neace and wife Becky of Branchland, WV, two sisters Alma Sneed of St. Louis, MO, and Betty Marcum and husband Alva Jr. of Wayne, WV, four brothers, Herschell "Cotton" Neace and wife Pat of Oak Forest, IL, Rev. DONALD EUGENE SANDERS SR., 62, of Lavalette, WV, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at KDMC in Ashland, KY. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Lavalette United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol McKay officiating. He was born September 12, 1952 in Barnwell SC to the late Leo and Evelyn Sanders. Don was a Marine veteran that served in Vietnam and after his military service he was a truck driver until he retired in 2003. He was also member of the Lavalette United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Ricky Sanders, a brother and several half siblings. Survivors include his wife Kathryn Sanders, 5 children: Evelyn Wedin, of Paradise CA, Donald Sanders Jr of Perth Australia, Christy Christen of Paradise CA, Pamela Scites of Tallmadge OH and Kathy West of Poca WV; 11 grandchildren: Danika, Alex, Christopher, Dakota, Mary Cate, Jazmine, Samantha, Andrea, Shaila, Jaidin and Gabriel; and 2 great grandchildren: Reiden and Nathaniel. LaDONNA RUTH CAMPBELL, 86 of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Ronnie Adams. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. LaDonna was born May 21, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Willis Fogle and the late Ethyl Timmons Fogle Moore. She was a homemaker, graduate of Vinson High School and a member of Central Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Payne Campbell, one brother, Robert D. Fogle and one sister Carmella Lucille Fogle. Two daughters and one son -in-law survive her, Patricia Cazad and Carmella and Dale Ward. She is also survived by the following grandchildren: Jim Cazad, Jason(Robyn) Cazad, Scott Lambert, Chris (Tori) Ward, Shane (Bobbie) Ward and in addition, greatgrandchildren: Carleigh, Chloe, Josiah, Makaya ,Jaxson, Jordan and Lola Cazad, Kaelynn and Ryan Ward, Savannah, Tyler and Alli Black. She also leaves behind one sister Yvonne Bing and special friends of the family, Leslie Denney and Austin and Emilee Wiles.
