Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Vilah Glenn Brooks; brothers, Fred Darling and Leon Darling, and sisters, Verna Bryant, Violet Jarrell, Sara Jane Darling and Julie Eileen Cofer. Preceded in death by his loving partner, Myrtle Louise Adkins, an infant son, brothers, Donald Adkins, Harlan Adkins and Franklin Adkins and sisters, Zula Bryant, Berdie Porter and Jo Ann Adkins. DIED – JANUARY 1, 2005 ** ARTHUR RAY KENT, 62, of Buford, Ga., formerly of Huntington. Born February 28, 1942, in Cabell County, a son of Lorraine McKeand Kent and the late Roderick LeRoy Kent. DIED – JANUARY 1, 2005 ** WILLIAM "BILL" JOHNSON, JR., 65, of Kermit, W.Va., formerly of Man, W.Va., at his residence. Born September 1, 1939, in Ethel, W.Va., a son of the late Willie and Avis Scarbro Johnson. The body has been cremated.

Born April 9, 1912, at Licking River, Ky., a daughter of the late Preston Patrick and Viola Reffitt Patrick. Preceded in death by her husband, R. Stanton "Tink" Jeffers; a daughter, Judy Benford Jeffers; brothers, Otto Patrick, Elmo Patrick, Rev. W.E. Patrick, and Ralph Patrick. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and David W. DIED – JANUARY 2, 2005 ** STERLING RONK, 89, of Kenova, W.Va., at Heartland of Riverview in South Point, Ohio. Born April 10, 1915, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a son of the late Benjamin and Meda Lancaster Ronk. Preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Ronk. Survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Sterling L. and Jenny Ronk, and Joseph B. and Faye Ronk; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glen Ronk. There will be no visitation or services.

DIED – JANUARY 2, 2005 ** MILDRED (MOORE) MARCUM, 69, of Fort Gay, W.Va., at Three Rivers Medical Center. Born September 25, 1935, in Kentucky, to the late Lige Moore and Dollie Moore Ratliff. Preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Marcum; sons, Arthur Marcum and Dennis Marcum; daughter, Linda Sue Marcum; brother, William (Billy) Moore. DIED – JANUARY 3, 2005 ** KARIN KELEHEAR ALLMOND, 62, of Huntington, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. Born June 14, 1942, in Hampton County, S.C., a daughter of the late Joseph and Jenny Belle Kelehear. Survivors include daughters, Mary Jean Balfonz and husband Ronald, and Melinda Christian and husband Marty; son, Jerry Coleman Allmond Jr. and his fiancee Elizabeth Ann Browning; one grand-daughter and two grandsons. DIED – JANUARY 4, 2005 ** BILLY JOE CHRISTIAN, 44, of Genoa, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born July 15, 1960, in Huntington, a son of Dave Christian of Wayne and the late Pearl Wilks Christian. Preceded in death by his father-in-law, George Holland. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Franklin E. Stull. Survivors include sons, Frank "Gene" Stull and wife Ann and Dana Edward Stull, and Thomas M. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Thompson and Rachael Poe, and a brother, Roy Poe. Survivors include a sister, Blanche Poe, and a brother, James Elbert Poe and wife Gladys. DIED – JANUARY 6, 2005 ** KELLY RENAE KRICHBAUM, 33, of Cleveland, Va., at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA. Born August 16, 1971, in Wooster, Ohio, a daughter of Samuel Henry and Judy Carol Hooser Chakey. Preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Shelby and Bertie Hall; her paternal grandparents, Joe and Ruth Elizabeth Chakey, and maternal grandfather, Vay Hooser. Survivors include her husband, K.C. DIED – JANUARY 7, 2005 ** HERCLE BREWER, 89, of Kermit, W.Va., at Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky. Born November 5, 1915, in Mingo County, W.Va. to the late Leona Brewer. Preceded in death by sister, Hazel Marcum and brother, Gomer Brewer. Surviving are his son, Joseph Brewer; daughters, Loise Warren and her husband Bill, Kathy Flemings and Coetta Brewer; brothers, Thurman Brewer and Thomas Brewer; sisters, Ivory Parsley, Edna May Stepp and Pauline Brewer; eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
