LORETTA FAYE DEAN KISER,
71, was promoted to her Heavenly reward on July 1, 2010. Loretta was the
daughter of the late Delbert and Mae Tooley Dean born on October 8, 1938.
She was married on August 3, 1956 to Johnny A. Kiser. Loretta was a graduate
of the class of 1956 from Guyan Valley High School. Loretta was a life long
member and worker of the Camp Branch United Baptist Church where she was a
clerk for the past 30 years. Loretta is preceded in death by her father,
Delbert; mother, Mae; brother, Damon; and sister Barbara Dean; one
son-in-law, Clyde Dalton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and
Mae Kiser; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willis and Lorene and Harold
and Eloise Kiser; brother-in-law, Billy Kiser; and sisters-in-law, Faye
Kiser and Joanette Hoover. Loretta is survived by her loving and devoted
husband of 54 years, Johnny A. Kiser of Branchland; one son, Timmy (Danita)
Kiser of Upper Tract; two daughters, Tina Kiser Grayson of Branchland and
Rhonda (Frank) Isaacs of Teays Valley; 7 grandchildren, Dustan, Hillary, Lee
(Melinda), Lindsey, Brandon, Chynna, and Casey, and one great grandson,
Bentley. Loretta is also survived by one brother, Ted (Sue) Dean and one
sister-in-law, Jane Dean of Ohio; brother-in-law, Nick Kiser; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Jerry and Mattie, Marshall and Judy; Doug and Ann, and
sister-in-law, Joanne Kiser; Ann and Duane Tabor; and Jennifer and Terry
White and brother-in-law, Rick Hoover. Loretta will also be missed by 30
nieces and nephews and 45 great nieces and nephews and an extended church
family. Anyone who met Loretta truly witnessed God's sunshine in their life.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Camp Branch
United Baptist Church, Branchland, W.V. with Rev. Jim Wilson and Rev. Bobby
Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Saunders Cemetery, Branchland,
W.V. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Koontz

BOYD BROOKS, 82, of Wayne, WV, formerly of East
Lynn, WV went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 1, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted 2 pm Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Morris
Funeral Home Chapel by Brother A.J. Perry. Burial followed at Skeens
Cemetery. He was born June 9, 1928 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late
Oscar and Eliza Jane Clay Brool& Boyd was a retired laborer for WV
Department . of Highways and a member of the Nestlow United Baptist Church.
His wife, Nancy Ellen Brooks also preceded him in death, along with a
daughter, Martha Ellen Brooks and two sons, Steve Allen Brooks and James
Oscar "Bo" Brooks; two sisters, Mary Stevenson and Irene Pack; four
brothers, Earnest Brooks, Oscar Brooks, Jr., Willis Brooks and Everett
Brooks. Survivors include three daughters, Gladys Mae Francis and husband,
Danny, and Eliza Jane Stephens and husband, Jack, all of Wayne, WV, and
Alberta Kay Adkins and husband, Calvin of East Lynn, WV; four sons, Boyd Lee
"BB" Brooks, at home, Donald Lloyd Brooks and wife, Sally of Dawsonville,
GA, Lige Brooks and wife, Millie of Kiahsville, WV, and John David Brooks
and friend, Ann of Wayne, WV; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Brooks of Lavalette,
WV; twenty-two grandchildren, Anthony Brooks, Kimberly Dooley, Shawn Brooks,
Scott Swimm, Chris Swimm, Jennifer Osborne, Brandon Swimm, Jamie Brooks,
Boyd M. Brooks, Brian Brooks, Jeremy- Brooks, Justin Brooks, Joshua

MYRTLE G. PACK, 96, resident of Colonial Manor,
Loudonville, Ohio, formerly of Wayne, W.Va., died Friday, July 2, 2010,
after an extended illness. Mrs. Pack was born June 13, 1914 in Wayne, the
daughter of the late William and Liz Trogden. Her husband, Drewie Pack, also
preceded her in death, along with two daughters, Lois Russell and Phyllis
Pack. She was a resident of Wayne all her life and had many friends. She
will be so sadly missed by her family, including her five sons, Virgil (Sue)
Pack of Wayne; William (Jennings) Pack of Wayne, Drewie (Karen) Pack of
Wooster, Oh., Roger (Jolene) Pack of Branchland , W.Va., and Hubert (Jean
Ann) Pack of Beechfork, W.Va. ; four daughters, Wanda (Ernie) Kuhel of
Howard, Oh., Iris (Harold) Bivens of Moulthrie , Ga., Barbara (Sue) Immel of
Wooster, Oh., and Jeffrey Bailey of Wayne; 33 grandchildren; 44 great
grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were
conducted I p.m., Monday, July 5 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial
followed in Community Memorial Gardens. Friends called two hours prior to
services.

CLARA MARGARET WILLIAMS, 89, of Huntington,
W.Va., passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, in Heritage Center. Funeral
services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the Reger Funeral Chapel
conducted by Brother William McKeand. Burial will follow in Spring Valley
Memory Gardens, Huntington. Margaret was born March 7, 1921, in Gallipolis,
Ohio, a daughter of the late Daniel Webster and Emma Jane Fowler Shafer. She
was a former employee of the Adkins-Rollins Senior Citizens Center in
Kenova. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second
husband, Forrest Williams; her daughter, Judy Newman; and six brothers and
sisters, Carl, Morton and Lawrence Shafer, Alice Shafer, Maxine Salyers and
Lena Russell. Those that survive her include her son and daughter-in-law,
James Arnold and Sallie Robinette of Huntington; four grandchildren and
their spouses, Janet and Larry Howard of Kenova, John and Lisa Robinette of
South Point, Jamie Artrip and Jason Robinette, both of Huntington.
Additional survivors include eight great-grandchildren, Courtney Holschuh,
Christen Holschuh, Joshua Artrip, Julie Artrip, Amanda Artrip, Alex
O'Malley, Audrey Robinette and Julianna Robinette; a host of nieces and
nephews; and two special friends and sisters-in-law, Ella Shafer and Mabel
Shafer. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the
Homestead unit of Heritage Center for the wonderful care that Margaret

EDITH BAILEY HESTER, 90, of Huntington, W.Va.,
went home to be with her Lord Saturday, July 3, 2010, in the Emogene Dolin
Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by
Pastor Roger Mooney at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in White
Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in
Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late David Austin and Josephine Adams
Fife. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Kellogg Independent
Holiness Church of God. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in
death by her first husband, Paul Bailey, Sr.; and her second husband, Bennie
Hester. One daughter, Edith McCormick; two sisters, Annie Bowling and Irene
Carter; seven brothers, Frank, Arthur "Bus," Lawrence, George, Paul, Donald
and Robert Fife, preceded her in death as well. She is survived by the
following family: four sons and their spouses, Paul and Melody Bailey, Terry
and Candy Bailey, Charley and Barbara Bailey, and Rocky Bailey Sr., all of
Huntington; four daughters and their spouses, Hazel and Lloyd Holley Jr. of
Glenwood, W.Va., Mary Whitmore, Nancy and Kendall Shields, and Sandra and
Kerry Arthur Sr., all of Huntington. In addition, 36 grandchildren, a
multitude of great-grandchildren and hosts of great-great-grandchildren; and
nieces and nephews as well. The family would like to extend their
appreciation to Hospice, the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and to Dr.
Jane Kurucz for the wonderful care given to Edith. Visitation will be from 6

ANNA VIRGINIA HAWKES STICKLER, 97, of Lehigh
Acres, Fla., formerly of Nicholas County, West Virginia, passed away at her
daughter's home on Monday, July 5, 2010. Born February 1, 1913 at Dingess,
Mingo County, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ernest L. and
Sadie May Plymale Hawkes. She was also preceded in death by her husband
Lionel C. Stickler in 1963. She was a former schoolteacher and was a
Presbyterian by faith. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Stickler of
Lehigh Acres, Fla.; two sons, William L. Stickler of Kenova, W.Va., and John
M. Stickler of Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Michael, David, Jennifer,
Kathleen, John II, and Christine, and three great-grandchildren, Ashley,
Ted, and Jack. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 10,
2010 in the White Funeral Home, Summersville, W.Va., with Pastor Greg Kupar
officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery, Pool,
W.Va. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the
funeral services.

ANNA LEE VANCE DAVIS, 67, of Wayne, W.Va. went
to be with the Lord on Monday, July 5, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born on April 18, 1943 in Lincoln County, W.Va. She was preceded in
death by her parents Clyde and Norma Alice Riffit Vance; former husband
Stuart C. Kruk; one grandson, Vincent S. Kruk Jr.; former husband, James A.
Spence. Survivors include her husband, Randall Lee Davis of Wayne, W.Va.,
two sons Vincent S. Kruk of Clarksville,TN. and Kenneth C. Kruk of West
Hamlin, W.Va.; one daughter Dawn L. Burke of Louisville, KY; two sisters
Deloris Moore and Janet Jackson and four brothers George Vance, Darrell
Vance, Dale Vance and Jimmy Vance; six grandchildren Joe Kruk, Kyle Kruk,
Cheyenne Kruk, Ryan Kruk, Miranda Kruk and Sean Matheis and two great
grandchildren Apollo Kruk and Riley Kruk. Funeral services will be conducted
at. 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Johnson-Tiller Funeral Home. The
family will receive guests beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at
the Funeral Home.

FRANKLIN DELANO DAMRON, 76, of Prichard, passed
away Monday, July 5, 2010 at his home. Frank was born Feb. 26, 1937 in
Prichard, the youngest son of the late Ella Blankenship. He was a 1953
graduate of Fort Gay High School. He attended Pensacola Junior College and
the University of West Florida. Frank was a retired veteran of the U.S.
Navy. He enjoyed travelling around the country and the world but his heart
was always in Wayne County. Frank was a loving father and an awesome
"Grandpa". He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. Frank was
preceded in death by his wife Doris (Tucker) Damron. He is survived by his
son, Dale Damron; two daughters, Tammy Kay Davis (Bryan Davis) and Karen
Damron; seven grandchildren and sister Ruby Thompson. Visitation will be
from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.
at Young's Funeral Home Chapel Thursday in Louisa with burial following at
White Chapel Cemetery in Barboursville.

ELSIE ELIZABETH BECKETT, 88, of Huntington,
W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Heritage Center in
Huntington. Elsie was born on April 26, 1922, in Huntington, a daughter of
the late Stephen and Elsie Tiza Rencsok. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Mervin C. Beckett; her
son Edward M. Beckett, her sister Helen M. Lupton; her brother Stephen F.
Rencsok and a nephew, Steve Lupton. She was a graduate of Huntington High
School and attended the Huntington School of Business. She was employed as a
bookkeeper for J.L. Jaskow, furrier, for over 30 years and a member of the
Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church. She proudly served her country for two
years during World War II in the United State Navy. She is survived by her
daughter Judy Beckett; her daughter-in-law Shirley Beckett; two
grandchildren, Tina Beckett and Chris Beckett; granddaughter-in-law Jeanie
Beckett; one granddaughter and her husband Jennifer and Joseph Marinnaci of
Hurricane, W.Va.; one great-grandson, Will Beckett; three
great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew and Adley Marinnaci of Hurricane; a
special nephew, Tom Lupton of Salt Rock, W.Va.; and her sister-in-law, Wanda
Rencsok of Lebanon, Ohio. She is also survived by several nieces and
nephews. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday, July 9,
2010 at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. Funeral service will be
conducted on Friday at noon at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Brady
Lipscomb. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington.
Her daughter would like to thank the staff of the Heritage Center who cared
for her mother over the past 2-1/2 years. The love and respect you gave

PANSY CARROLL, 85, of Shoals, W.Va., died
Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service will be held noon
Friday, July 9, 2010, at the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church with
visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in the
Brumfield Family Cemetery. Pansy was born June 26, 1925, in Cabell County,
daughter of the late Ezra and Mary Stephenson Adkins. In addition to her
parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Carroll; a son
Charles Emerson Carroll; three brothers, Ralph, Donald and Robert Adkins and
two sisters, Mildred Young and Elsie Motz Owens. Mrs. Carroll was a founding
member of the Shoals Missionary Baptist Church, of which she took an active
leadership role in various church activities. She was also a member of the
Eastern Star and worked for the Reliance Dress Factory during the 1940's.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard E. and Jennifer
Carroll of Kenova, W.Va., and David P. and Bobbie Carroll of Shoals; two
daughters, Paula Quinn and husband Robert W. of New Bern, N.C., and Edna
Farley of Shoals; seven grandchildren, Marlena Bleau, R. Grayson Quinn,
Jessica Casey, Allison, James, Chase and Carissa Carroll; three
great-grandchildren, Ashby Kate Bleau, Carlie Grace Casey and Cain Maynard;

BESSIE "PAULINE" JORDAN, 90, of Kenova is at
peace with the Lord on July 8, 2010 at her home. She was born March 8, 1920,
to the late Bill Ward and Nona Lucas Ward. She was preceded in death by her
beloved husband Wyatt A. Jordan, several uncles and aunts, her momma Kitty,
Rowdy and Amber, her cats whom she loved dearly. Pauline and Wyatt owned and
operated Jordan's Grocery in Huntington for over 40 years. She was an avid
poet with several poems published. She was a member of the National Orchid
Society and raised more than 150 orchids and other tropical plants, which
she loved to show in her greenhouse. Pauline was a faithful member of the
Spirit of Faith Church, where she will be greatly missed by all her church
family. She is survived by her extended family, Pastor Tim and Brenda
Crabtree, whom she loved as her own children; her "grandchildren" Pastor Tim
(Kristy) Crabtree of Georgetown, S.C., Amanda (Neal) Wray of Kenova, W.Va.;
three "great-grandsons" Hunter Crabtree, Jacob Wray and Jordan Wray, who
will be here in August, all of whom she was so proud. Also surviving are
Wyatt's niece Judith Jordan of New Port Richie, Fla.; a cousin Kathy Smith
of Huntington, W.Va., and her husband Harold and their children Raelynn and
Lucas; one uncle Willard Lucas of Huntington, W.Va., and a very special
friend, her puppy Rascal. Special thanks to her "girls," Jennifer Adkins,
Brandi Chapman, Lisa Romans and Betty Williams and the Hospice caregivers

BETTY LOU CROSS, 76, of Ashton, WV, passed away
Thursday. July 8, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services were conducted at
2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV. by
Rev. Marshall Bonecutter and her son, Rev. Bradley Ross. Burial followed at
the McClellan Crum Cemetery at Dunlow, WV. She was born May 26, 1934 at
Dunlow, a daughter of the late Lafayette Damron, Sr. and Amanda Marcum
Damron. She was a self- employed in home caregiver and was a member of the
House of Praise and Worship at Kingtown, WV. Two husbands, James E. Cross
and Harry S. Ross. two daughters, Tawanna K. Ross and Kimberly D. Ross, a
son, William L. Ross, a step-daughter, Darla R. Cross, and siblings James
Damron, William Damron, Wayne Damron, Goldie Dailey, Charlie Damron, Sadie
Price and Lydia Maynard also preceded her in death. Survivors include a
daughter, Phyllis K. Burnside and husband, Ronnie, of Farmersville, TX;
three sons, Gary Ross and wife, Karla of Ashton, WV, Bradley L. Ross and

HENRY MAYNARD, 70, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away
Friday, July 9, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010, at
Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, by Elder Roger Maynard. Burial will
follow at the Maynard Cemetery on Ferguson Branch. He was born May 26, 1940,
in Wayne County, a son of the late Marcus and Goldie Workman Maynard. Henry
was a retired school bus driver and mechanic for Wayne County Schools, and
was a member of the Prichard United Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army
veteran and was a HAM radio operator KD8FDP, known as "Mountain Man". A
daughter, Melissa Thompson and a brother, Bill Maynard, also preceded him in
death. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Marcum Maynard; a son, Marcus
Maynard; two grandchildren, Jonathan Thompson and Marcus Henry "Bubby"
Maynard; four sisters, Mary Parsley of Crum, W.Va., Rinda Maynard of Wayne,
Wanda Caldwell of Huntington and Dorothy Fowler of Phoenix, Ariz.; and four
brothers, Wayne Maynard, Paul Maynard, Everett Lee Maynard and James "Cooter"

WILLIAM ARTHUR DAN FOLLOWAY LACKEY, 21, of
Wayne, WV, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 at Cabell Huntington Hospital
Huntington, WV. Funeral Services will be conducted 3 P.M. Tuesday, July 13,
2010 at the Dingess House of Prayer in Dingess,WV,by Brother Arbie Rice.
Burial will follow at the Johnce Lackey Cemetery. He was born May 20, 1989,
a son of Cheryl Lynn Caldwell Lackey and Garry Lee Lackey. William was a
laborer in the saw mill. His paternal grandfather Johnce Lackey preceded him
in death. Survivors include his sisters, Rose Followay of Dingess, WV,
Sabrina Lackey of Alabama; brothers, Garry Lee "Bub" Lackey of Wayne,WV,

NATHAN O. QUEEN, 79, of Wayne, W.Va., passed
away Friday, July 9, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington,
W.Va. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010,
at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, by Minister Ronnie Ross and Dallas
Moore. Burial will follow at the Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington,
W.Va. He was born April 29, 1931, in Wayne County, a son of the late Dewey
and Emma Queen. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Delphia Copley
and Lydia Queen. Nathan was a barber, retired from the Wayne County school
system, and a member of the Wayne Church of Christ. He was also a U.S. Navy
veteran and served in the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Ann J.
Queen; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Valerie Queen of Kenova, W.Va.;
a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Carl Steele of Wayne, W.Va.; five
grandchildren, Kellie and Chris Reynolds, Kala and Greg Michels, Kristin
Steele, Tyler Reeder and Shelby Queen; one great-granddaughter, Riley Jane
Michels; two sisters, Victoria Wilson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Virginia
and Welcie Maynard of Hot Springs, Ark. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.
Monday, July 12, at Morris Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chris Reynolds,
Greg Michels, Tyler Reeder, Ray Mills, Charles Preston and Oscar Napier. The

JESSEY LEE HUGHES, 19, of Wayne, W.Va., went to
be with the Lord on Friday, July 9, 2010. Born January 18, 1991 in
Huntington, W.Va., he was a 2009 graduate of Wayne High School, where he was
a member of the ROTC, and he was employed at Wal-Mart. He was preceded in

Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his residence. He was born December 28, 1951 in
Huntington, WV to the late Kelson Lee and Dora Pearl (Scragg) Scarberry. He
united in marriage to Ila (Collins) Scarberry who survives. Mr. Scarberry
was a member of the Mills Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include
his children Stanton and Jamie Scarberry of Wayne, Kelson and Tabatha
Scarberry of Wayne, Robert, Kathy, Angela, and Crystal all at home, Becky
Scarberry and Kelly Scarberry both of South Carolina. Other survivors
include a sister Melissa Ferguson of Michigan; nine grandchildren, along
with a host of special nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Mr.
Scarberry also leaves behind two special nurses Heidi and Leona. In addition

PAUL FRANKLIN ESKINS, 74, of Kenova, W.Va., was called home to be
with the Lord on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Wurtland Rehabilitation &
Nursing Facility. He was born in Pecks Mill, W.Va., then moved to
Huntington, W.Va., where he retired from C&O Railroad after 42 years. He was
proud to be a charter member of the Route 60 Freewill Baptist Church, which
he helped build. He had been a 32nd Degree Mason of the Huntington Masonic
Lodge #53, a Shriner with both Beni Kedem and El Hasa Temples. He was also
known as Clog-O the Clown, but anyone that knew him knew he was a clown
inside and out. His desire to make people happy and laugh will be greatly
missed. Mr. Eskins was preceded in death by his mother Lena Mae Eskins, his
father Rad Eskins, a son Michael Eskins, three sisters, Margaret Glyeadgis,
Velvia Clark and Fonnie Hannah. Survivors include an angel of a wife he was
married to for 25 years, Wanda Eskins; two precious daughters, Patricia Lynn
"Trice" Amis and her husband Stephen of Kenova and Pamela Kay "Squirt"

T.N.T. Club in Huntington, member of The Woman's Club of Huntington, the
East Huntington Kiwaniannes, the PharMedDent Bowling League, and alumni
member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was an avid supporter of the Musical
Arts Guild and Huntington Outdoor Theater. She was preceded in death by her
husband of 67 years, Harold Hinerman; one sister, Inez Clary; son-in-law,
Ralph May and a nephew, James Clary. She is survived by three daughters,
Judith Ann May of Barboursville, Janet Lynn Cowan of Atlanta, Ga., and

Ford Motor Company. His wife, Rebecca Ferguson Bradley also preceded him in
death, along with a sister, Elsie Rakes; and six brothers, Everett, John
Calvin, Brady, Willie and Birdie Bradley, and Dewey Stepp. Survivors include
a daughter, Nancy Carol Stroud and husband Floyd of King, N.C.; three sons,

formerly of Dunlow, W.Va., daughter of the late Arizona Maynard Meddings
Welch and David Meddings, passed from this life on Friday, July 23, 2010.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Survivors include
seven children, Dorene Mount of Milton, Beverly McLaughlin and Norma Fleming
of North Carolina, Shirlene McClain of South Carolina, Cecil Fields Jr.,
Marilyn King and Janette Eddy of Florida. May she find the peace in Heaven

CHESTER KITTS, 83, of Fort Gay passed away on
July 23, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey Kitts and Cuzzy
Robertson Kitts and an infant son Ricky Allen Kitts. He is survived by one

Murphy. He was a retired plant manager for National Mattress Company, and a
U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in W.W.II. in the Peleliu and
Okinawa campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion, a 1951 graduate
of Marshall University, and a Methodist by faith. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Murphy and Donald
Murphy; and two sisters, Ruby Newman and Opal Campbell. Survivors include

JAMES MARVIN "Pete" PETERS, 1934-2010, of New
Carlisle, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in Dayton, Ohio, at age 76. He
was born in Ceredo, W.Va., to Francis Walker and Ola Bernice Evelyn Clarkson
Peters. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Ann Hampton
Peters; son, Douglas (Traci); daughter, Sara Deem (Mark); granddaughter,
Shanna Bragg (Robert); sister, Judith Phillips (Bob); half-sister, Elise
Bower (Dan). He is also survived by a beloved extended family and many
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Penny; and
half-brother, John W. Peters. Jim graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School
in 1952. He attended Berea College (KY), served in the U.S. Army, and then
graduated from Marshall in 1959 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Jim
earned his Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering (1966) from the Air
Force Institute of Technology. Jim worked for over 30 years at
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (OH). After retirement in 1990, he began his
second career at C & N Industrial Contractors, where he became the chief
financial officer. Jim was an avid Marshall fan. He authored two books on
his family's history and genealogy. He served as treasurer for over 10 years
at his church. A memorial service will be held at Honey Creek Presbyterian
Church in New Carlisle on Saturday, July 31, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers,

VIRGINIA "Mom" WILKS, 77, of Huntington, went
to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Many have lost a friend and
loved one, but heaven has gained an angel. She was born Jan. 20, 1933, to
the late Nellie Rood Henderson and Russell A. Henderson, one of seven
sisters. Surviving are sisters Jeanette Waggoner of Huntington and Helen
Adkins of Proctorville, Ohio; and two surviving brother-in-laws, Don Monway
and Lloyd Adkins. She was the loving mother and best friend of Kimberly
Miller, whom she cherished and loved more than life itself. Additional
survivors include son-in-law, Gary Miller, that she admired and loved as if
he were her own son; adopted granddaughter, Amie Lambert, light of her life;
and a host of nieces and nephews in addition to one special nephew, Blake
Monway, and niece, Aleigh Carter. She retired from American National Rubber
after 20 years of service. A truly genuine, down-to-earth caring person that
will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all that know and love her.

BESSIE L. HUTCHINSON, 69, of Ceredo, went to be
with the Lord on Saturday, July 31, 2010. She was a loving wife, mother,
sister and "Nin." Bessie was born Oct. 22, 1940, to the late William and
Mary Belle (Wellman) Midkiff. She was very involved in the Ceredo community.
She was one of the first female EMTs on the Ceredo Volunteer Fire
Department, as well as a member of the Ceredo Fire Department Auxiliary,
Ceredo Beautification Committee and First Baptist Church of Ceredo. She had
also been a Boy Scout leader and a longtime member of the PTA at Ceredo
Elementary. Bessie is survived by her husband, Russell; daughters, Mary
Rayburn and Janie Hutchinson; sons, Gilbert (Becky) Hutchinson, Gordon
(Lisa) Hutchinson, Michael (Juli) Hutchinson and Bill (Linda) Hutchinson.
Additional survivors include her sister, Pat Sayers and her husband Mike; 10
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be

the late Fred and Laura Thompson Ramey. Jesse was a retired welder for ACF
Industries and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of

favorite phrase, and he has now reached his goal. He was a member of the

true and dedicated to his calling. In addition to his parents, he was also
preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Nelson Ramey; three infant
children; three brothers, James "Fuzz" Ramey, Talmage Ramey, and Albert
Ramey; a sister, Audrey Rose, and a very special grandson, Paul Daniel Rowe.
Survivors include his beloved and devoted wife of 19 years, Eula Baisden
Ramey; four children, Asa H. Ramey and Mary M. Ramey of Wayne, WV, Freddie
Ramey of Canton, OH, and Doris Lee Farley of East Lynn, WV; six
step-children, Darlene Trautwein, Letha Davis, Dona Kelly, Willie Spence,
Bobbie Adkins and Billy Baisden, all of Wayne, WV; four grandchildren, Mary
Ann Rowe, Linda Jane Watts, Jesse Ford Rowe, and Adam Ray Farley; and
numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Faye Miller of
Interlachen, FL;special brother-in-law, Eugene Adkins and wife, Genevive of
Huntington, WV. Very special to his heart was his step-daughter, Dona "Gay"
Kelly, step granddaughters, Traci Stiltner and Staci Adkins, and greatstep-granddaughter,
Kristen Stiltner, who helped with his care during his long illness. Funeral
services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Morris
Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV, by Arbie Rice, Jr. and Pastor Scott
Marshall. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens at Wayne. Friends
may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Morris Funeral Home.
