IRENE CONSTANCE ADKINS, 80, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be in the loving arms of the Lord Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Michael Dillon. Burial will follow at Stephenson Cemetery, Wayne, W.Va. She was born May 14, 1932, in Wayne, W.Va., a daughter of the late Sidney Russell Stephenson and Emma Lucas Stephenson. Irene was a devoted mother and homemaker. A son, Daniel Robert Stephenson, also preceded her in death; along with four brothers, Eugene, Lonnie, Homer, Calvary Stephenson. Survivors include her loving husband, Charles Edward Adkins; four daughters, Linda Plybon and husband, Danny of Prichard, W.Va., Patricia Smith and husband, Rodney of Lavalette, W.Va., Carolyn Plybon and husband, David of Prichard, W.Va., Beverly Spears and husband, Mike of Barboursville, W.Va.; two sons, Charles Edward Adkins Jr. of Wayne, W.Va., Tony Adkins of Lesage, W.Va.; six sisters, Lillian Hensley of Huntington, W.Va., Charlotte Varron of Michigan, Eleanor Napier, Dora Stephens, both of Wayne, W.Va., Evelyn McCloud and Genevieve Adkins of Huntington, W.Va.; three brothers, Delbert Stephenson and Glenn Stephenson, both of Wayne, W.Va., Charles Stephenson of Wyandotte, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. BETTY IRENE PERRY, 82, of Sunrise, Florida went to be with our Lord, December 1, 2012. Born in Wayne County, WV. January 30, 1930 to parents Alva and Ona Hooser. She is preceded in death by brothers Arvil, Elton, Leonard, and Heartsel Hooser. Husband Edward Perry, daughter Sandy Moore, son Roy Miller, and g.granddaughter McKenzie Brewer. A longtime resident of Huntington, WV. Betty worked at Jim’s Spaghetti House for 13 years. Retiring to Sunrise, Fl. she became a active member of Calgary Fellowship Church. Betty was dearly loved by her family and friends. She leaves behind sisters Dorothy Longfellow, Deloris Binion, Genevieve Staley, and Vivian Hooser. Son Darrell Hooser (Lisa), Gary Miller (Cherie), "daughter" Kristin Wilson, daughter in law Joni Miller, g.nephew Eric Binion (Toni) and g.g.nieces Mickayla and Rebecca. Grandchildren Sonya, Angel, Angela, Roy Jr., Summer, Michelle, Brian, and Bobby. Great grandchildren Kayala, Kierra, Trey, Cameron, Riley, Alana, Nathan, Allison, Wyatt, Michael, Alexa, Zoe, Kaylee, and Kelli. Great great grandchild Kenzleigh. LORETTA MAYNARD LAYMAN, "SIS," 73, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born Sept. 11, 1939 in Wayne, W.Va., daughter of the late Kiah and Irene Thacker Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gene Layman and a sister June Snyder. She is survived by one son Don (Margi) Layman of Proctorville, Ohio; one daughter Sandy (Roger) Smith of Sunset Beach, N.C.; four grandchildren Mary Loretta (Timothy) Blake, Brad (Cortni) Layman, J.B. Smith all of Proctorville, Ohio and John David Warren- Smith of Huntington; three step grandchildren Bo, Tiffany and Tony Smith all of Huntington; six great-grandchildren Tyler and Jacob Blake of Proctorville, Ohio; Dakota, Abigail and Isabel Warren-Smith of Chesapeake, Ohio; and Kelsey Warren- Smith of Huntington; three brothers, Eldon (Lucy) Maynard and Kenneth (Chris) Maynard, both of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Walter Maynard of Proctorville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio, by Pastor Ronnie Tyree. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, W.Va., by Rev. Jack Liphardt and Pastor Don Dillon. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens at Wayne. She was born Aug. 30, 1937 at East Lynn, W.Va., a daughter of Kathleen Adkins Mathis Terry of Wayne and the late Basil Mathis. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Her most cherished role was as a child of God and demonstrated her faithfulness through teaching and studying his word, singing and playing the organ and piano. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former member of East Lynn Baptist Church and Grace Gospel Church. Her first husband of 40 years, Hoyt Maynard, also preceded her in death. Survivors include her loving husband, Dr. Charles I. Shelton; two sons, Hoyt Alan Maynard of Wayne and Darren Maynard of Huntington; two sisters, Bonnie (Joe) Trautwein of Wayne and Teresa (Bill) Thompson of Huntington; two brothers, Jonah (Tommia Jean) Mathis and Steve (Nancy) Terry, all of Wayne; three grandchildren, Jason, Lake and Kendra Maynard; two great-grandchildren, Layne and Kaden Maynard; and her aunt, Joann Gillilan of Huntington; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. NORMAN CLAY, 89, of Huntington, W.Va., formerly of Wayne, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was born March 7, 1923, a daughter of the late Claud and Eliza Childers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Clay. Survivors include one son, Carl David Clay and daughter-in-law Cora L. of Huntington; one sister, Ruth Osburn of Loraine, Oh.; and one brother, Junior Childers and his wife Wilma of St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Harold Pelfrey officiating. Burial followed at the Watson Cemetery, East Lynn. JULIUS PACK, 67, of Kiahsville, WV passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Kiahsville Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Earl Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the Pack Cemetery, Kiahsville. He was born on April 17, 1945 to the late Rufus and Lucinda Watts Pack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judy Pack, brothers Columbus, Isaac, Jay, Rufus Earl Junior "Bug", Earsel and Carl Pack and three sisters Sarah and Mary Queen and Georgia Worral. HESTER ELLEN NELSON BAILEY, 70, of Kenova passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Grayson Caring Hands, Huntington. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 8, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dolphus Perry officiating. Hester was born on July 7, 1942 in Dunlow, WV to the late Noah Nelson and Maltie Pack Nelson. She was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Don and Bobby Nelson and a granddaughter Christina Davis. She is survived by her sons Bryan Bailey and wife Ann of Ceredo, Steve Bailey and wife Nancy; grandchildren Evan Bailey of El Paso, Texas, Elizabeth Davis of Huntington, Dakota Chambers of Huntington, Kyle and Kristian Bailey, great grandson Jett Bailey sister Aileen Bailey of Clear Water, Florida, brothers Estel Nelson and wife Mary of Huntington and brother David and wife Diann of Huntington, two sisters-in-law Patty Nelson and Martha Nelson and a very special cousin Mary Sue Watts. ANCEL DEE THOMPSON, 78, of Genoa, W.Va. passed away December 6, 2012 at his home in Mill Creek, W.Va. after a sudden illness. Born July 1, 1934, in Beauty, Ky. a son of the late Ky. Bert and Edna Pratt Thompson he was a bus driver for the Wayne County Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of the Isaac Park Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Inez L. Maynard Thompson, five sons; Clethith Dee Thompson, Tennessee, Gary Lee Thompson, Michigan, Phillip Darrell Thompson, Virginia, Timothy Thompson, Ohio, and Kennith Thompson, Genoa, W.Va., four sisters; Gen Noe, Sidney, Ohio, Katherine Scoggins, Sumpter, S.C., Wanda Hundley, Genoa, W.Va., and Joyce Phillips, Genoa, W.Va., one stepdaughter, Debbie Watts, Ft. Gay, W.Va., four stepsons; Bill Osborne, Genoa W.Va., Gary Osborne, Ft. Gay, W.Va., Tim Osborne, Genoa, W.Va., and Dwight Osborne, Ft. ANNIEBELL ROBERTSON SNOW, 89, of Genoa. W.Va. passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at JJ Jordan Geriatric Center in Louisa, Ky. She was born June 2, 1923 in Genoa, W.Va. a daughter of the late Everett and Molly Robinson Robertson. She was a housewife. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Snow, two stepsons; Delman Lewis Snow, and George Earl Snow, two brothers; Sideny Robinson and Charlie Robinson and one sister. Survivors include two sons; Lonnie Kenny Robertson, Indianapolis, Ind., and Ralph (Dianne) Snow of Genoa, W.Va., three stepsons; Selvan Gene Snow, Jay (Rose) Snow, and Franklin Stewart (Dorseen) Snow, all of Genoa, W.Va., three stepdaughters; Roberta Eloise Moore, Peggie (Charles) Curnutte, and Maggie Lee Snow, all of Genoa, W.Va., three granddaughters; Sabrina Nikita Snow, Genoa, W.Va., Annie Haga and Jenni Wilbur, both of Indianapolic, Ind., ten grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. TERRY LEE "TURK" GRIMMETT, of Paddle Creek, WV formerly of Dehue, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 of a long illness. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Oak Grove Church by Brother Luther Dingess. Burial followed at the Terry Lee Mosley/Grimmett Cemetery, Paddle Creek. He was born on July 6, 1944 at Christian, WV a son of the late Morma and Nina Grimmett. He was a respected coal miner of 31 years, a member of the UMWA Local 5850 and retired from Pittson Coal. Preceding him in death are four brothers, Clayton "Old Man" Grimmett, Bill McQuithy, Jackie Grimmett and Bradley Grimmett, two sisters Shirley Grimmett and Clara Decharme and one grandson Terry Lee Mosley, his namesake. CLARENCE MILLS, 85 years and 13 days old went home to be in the arms of Jesus on Friday December 7, 2012 at 11:45 p.m. at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. He was born October 25, 1927 in East Lynn, WV, a son of the late George Washington and Dora Belle Ross Mills. Three brothers, Walter, Glen and Bernard K. Mills, and four sisters, Dorothy Adkins, Delphia Perry, Bessie Beliek and Maxine Mills also preceded him in death. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Nella Fae Sanders Mills; two sons, Clarence Douglas Mills and wife, Ginetta Carroll Mills, and Jerry Allen Mills, all of East Lynn, WV; a daughter, Dora Darlene Wilson and husband, Billy L. Wilson, of Genoa, WV; five grandchildren, Billy L. Wilson, II of Genoa, WV, Stephanie Dawn Thompson and husband, Marvin, Aaron Douglas Mills, Sarah S. Mills, and Jerry Matthew Mills, all of East Lynn, WV; four great-grandchildren, Billy L. EMMA PACK PARSONS went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery, Branchland. She was born on January 14, 1927 to the late Thomas and Izetta Copley Pack. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons Charles Edward and Darrell E. Parsons. Surviving are her loving husband: Leo V. WILLIAM EDWARD FRASHER "BILL", 77, of Fort Gay, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the home of his son with family at his side. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne with Brother Roger Maynard, Tommy Damron, Tony Clay and Orville Damron officiating. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne with Masonic Grave Rites conducted by Wayne Lodge #18 AF & AM. Bill was born July 12, 1935 at Stiltner, WV the son of the late Charlie and Ethel (Tabor) Frasher. He was self-employed and a retired heavy equipment operator. Bill was a member of Echo Baptist Church, loved his church family, and was happy to be a child of God. He enjoyed reading the Bible and keeping up with current events. Bill cherished the time he spent with his sons and their families. He was a member of Wayne Lodge #18 and was a 32 degree Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Rock Edward Frasher, brothers Frank and Carl Frasher, sister Charlie Mae Frasher Napier, brothers in law Otis Ross, Laural Finley, Charlie Finley and Bud Terry, sister in law Lois Finley and mother in law Marjorie Adkins Napier Tabor. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years Norma Lee Napier Frasher, sons William Bryan Frasher (Traci) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Van Franklin Frasher (Kim) of Columbus, Ohio, sisters Stella Finley (Laural) of Wayne, West Virginia, Alta Lee Ross (Otis) of Hawthorne, Florida, Betty Jean Napier (JT) of Wintergarden, Florida, Ruby Finley (Charlie) of Marysville, Michigan, sister in laws Alma Frasher and Lucille Terry, brother in law Okey F. Napier (Jerry) and the loves of his life his grandchildren Kassandra Frasher, Cole Richard Frasher and William Maxwell Frasher. DEMI PAULSEN, 89, of Harts, W.Va., widow of Richard Paulsen, died December 8, 2012, at home. Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Guyan Freewill Baptist Church at Little Harts, W.Va.; burial at Vance Cemetery, Harts. JIMMY RUSSELL LANGDON, 83, of Kenova, W.Va., died Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. He was born September 8, 1929, in Chesapeake, Ohio, a son of the late Garland Langdon and Myrtle Twaddle. He worked for Heiner's Bakery as an oven operator. He was a member of Hyland Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Catlettsburg, Ky. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Langdon is survived by his wife Joann Smith Langdon; one daughter Kathy Jo Smith of Ashland, Ky.; one sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Sam Hall of Proctorville, Ohio and one sister-in-law Jean Langdon of Chesapeake, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home, Kenova, W.Va. ELLA GOBLE MUNCY, 82, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at her home on Mattie Road, Louisa, Ky, following a long illness. She was born March 20, 1930 in Martin County to the late James and Pearl Goble. She was a housewife. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers; Richard, Eldon, Kenton, Ellis, Rabon and Abraham Goble and sisters; Evelyn Preston and Mary Griffing. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Sam Muncy, her sister, Dixie (Bill) Cumbo, Columbus, Ohio, five sons; Eldon Muncy, Sam (Anita) Muncy, Jr., James Stone, Joseph Stone, and Sam Michael Muncy, all of Louisa, Ky., four daughters; Ellen McCoy, Columbus, Ohio, Peggy (Charles Ray) Sammons and Pearlie (Danny) Diamond of Louisa, Ky., and Brenda Grim of Flat Gap, Ky. and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. CURTIS FRANKLIN BOOTH, 73, of Ceredo, W.Va., died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Chris Day officiating. Burial will be in Cyrus Cemetery, Prichard, W.Va. Curtis was born March 25, 1939, in Prichard, W.Va., a son of the late Franklin and Corinne Adams Booth. He was retired from Coal Terminals Inc. One brother, Ronald Lee Booth, and one son, Curtis Allen Booth, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Edna Ross Booth; two sons, Dale Booth of Wayne County, W.Va., and Ronald Booth of Huntington; one daughter, Curtina Shepperd and husband David, also of Huntington; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. FRANK WESTLEY WHALEY SR. of Coal Grove, Ohio, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Ironton, Ohio. He was born March 1, 1934, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas Edward and Mary Louise Kennedy Whaley. Frank was a laborer with Laborers Local #543 in Huntington, W.Va. He was a U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. The Honor Guard of American Legion Post #93 Kenova will conduct military graveside rites. Frank was Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Michael Koukos, and one sister, Linda Jo Whaley. KIMBERLY ANN BLEVINS, 43, of Kenova, WV, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic. Kim was born April 11, 1969, in Huntington, W.Va. She was a 1987 graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School. Kim had a big heart, was very generous, and loved children. She had a beautiful voice, and loved to sing. She also had many friends around the world through her computer. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Billy G. Blevins, and a very special great aunt, Vicy Jane Ross. She is survived by her mother, Janice Blevins; sister, Cathy, and brother-in-law, Kendrick (Marc) Blevins (whom she always called "Bubby"); and a very special niece, Kelsey Blevins; all of Kenova. Kim is also survived by special friends, Karen Ramey and Michael Lambert, and a very special friend, Richard Smith, of Grenada, Miss. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 11 a.m., at The First Independent Missionary Baptist Church in Kenova, W.Va., where Kim was a member, with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. CHARLES HOWARD NEWMAN, 70, of Kenova, W.Va., passed away Monday, December 17, 2012, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Charlie was born November 7, 1942, in Dickson, W.Va., a son of the late Charles B. and Erma E. Craft Newman. A brother James Ermal Newman also preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era, and retired from Verizon Communications as an installer and cable splicer. He was an active scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 605 for over 20 years, mentoring 13 scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also active with the Girl Scouts. One of Charlie's passions was teaching grade school children, as well as folks of all ages, about the Civil War. He took great pride in his role not only as a teacher but also as a re-enactor serving with Chapman's Battery, Virginia Light Artillery, made up of reenactors from WV, VA and MD and PA. Survivors include the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Connie Jo Plummer Newman; two daughters, Tammie Renee' Hilton of Florida, and Wendie Gail Newman of Kenova; two sons, James Richard "Russ" Newman (Wendy) of Kenova, Johnathan Scott Newman of Huntington; Greg Richards (Angie) of Kenova whom he thought of as a son; five granddaughters, Victoria and her twin sister Amanda Newman, Mariah Bias, Kayle Owens and Breanna Hilton; three adopted grandchildren, Lenzy, Jacob and Isabella Richards; and his family from Chapman's Battery whom he loved dearly. Twice married, she is survived by her ex-husband, Larry O'Connor, Grafton, WV, and was preceded in death by her second husband, Nelson L. Blankenship, (a former Sheriff & Clerk of Harrison County, WV) on June 9, 2007. LONZO RAY "JOE" PHIPPS, 65, of East Lynn, W.Va., met his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born September 11, 1947 in Fanrock, W.Va., a son of the late Lester Ray Phipps and Louisa Nester Fuson. His wife Sharlane Shin Phipps also preceded him in death along with two sisters and two brothers. Tommie was born Nov. 2, 1925, Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Boyd F Adkins and Euna G Adkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. "Jug" Johnson; two grandsons, John Collin Heatherly and Jason David Heatherly; a brother, Jack Adkins; and three sisters, Eloise Staley, Helen Ronk and Billie Bellomy. She was a graduate of Buffalo High School and worked many years at Armstrong Industries and the Wayne County Courthouse before retiring. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Johnson Heatherly (John) of Commerce, Texas, and Jane Johnson Phipps (Ed) of Martinsburg W.Va.; granddaughters, Sarah Ann Heatherly Fielden and her husband James of Commerce, Texas, Teresa Marie Phipps and Jody Ellen Phipps, both of Chicago, Ill., and Kelley Heatherly Hemingway and her husband Lloyd of Greenville, Texas; great-grandchildren, Austin David and Katelyn Mae Heatherly, both of Greenville, Texas; a brother, James T. ALMA MAE "PATTY" AKLEY, 85, of Kenova, W.Va., beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, departed this life for her Heavenly home on Dec. 28, 2012. Patty was born May 1, 1927, in Lawrence County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Donald and Vada Fulks. She was a faithful member of Kellogg Holiness Church of God and enjoyed 20 years of wintering in Lehigh Acres, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack E. Miller; and one brother, Lee Fulks. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mack E. Akley; daughter, Jacqueline and husband Harold Perdue; granddaughter, Natalie and husband Tom Bevins; grandson, Don Michael and wife Pamela Perdue; great-grandchildren, Whitley Mayo, Lacey and Savannah Bevins, and Madison, Jordan and Aiden Perdue; great-great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Mayo; sisters, Freda Barry and Patricia Fry; brothers, Jack and Paul Fulks; and a host of dear nieces, nephews and cousins. JOHN KAY BING, 54 of Bethlehem, N.C, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence. Born August 28, 1958 in Madison W.Va., he was the son of Margaret Ann Belcher Bing and the late Marvin Lovell Bing. John was a dock builder for Westwind Marine. In addition to his mother, Margaret Ann Belcher Bing he is survived by 3 daughters: Melanie Shoemaker and husband Fred of Bethlehem, Tina Bing and fiance Paul Wilson of Hickory, N.C, Sarah Propst and husband Ryan of Taylorsville, N.C; a son, Daniel Adkins of Taylorsville; 2 brothers: Marvin Ray Bing of Point Pleasant, W.Va., Roger Lee Bing I of Wayne, W.Va.; 3 sisters: Jo Arm Chaney, Yonnie Stover both of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., Patricia Flora of Apple Grove, W.Va.; mother of his children, Jo Ann Bing of Taylorsville; 7 grandchildren: Dylan, Logan, Taylor, Emma, Laressa, Chase and Ashlynn; girlfriend, Nancy Rose Woodruff of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces and nephews. BESSIE DAVIS OSBURN, 95, of Lavalette, W.Va., widow of Irvin Osburn, departed this life Dec. 30, 2012, at Grayson Assisted Living with her daughter by her side. She was born Jan. 29, 1917, in Waterloo, Ohio, to Hendrix and Laura Lambert Davis. She will be celebrating her 96th birthday with Jesus and her husband. She worked 29 years at the former Huntington Manufacturing Company and was a member of the former Booton United Baptist Church. Also preceding her in death were brothers and sisters Leslie, Ben and Cecil Davis, Ruby Adkins, Frankie Blankenship, Esta Lipkings and Dorothy Yates. Left to remember many precious memories are her daughter, Jane Adkins (Wendell); a son, Gary Osburn (Dona); her grandchildren, Steve Adkins (Roxanne), Brian Adkins (Jeanne), Kevin Adkins (Silke), Gary Ray Osburn (Lora), Gretchen Beach (J.K.), and Grant Osburn (Julie); her great-grandchildren, Michael Adkins (Kristine), Whitney Adkins, Katie Davis (Patrick), Nick and Brett Adkins, Elizabeth and Victoria Osburn, Joshua, Matthew and Benjamin Beach, and Claire, David and Jocelyn Osburn; great- great-grandchildren, Summer and Caleb Adkins and Natalie Davis; a sister, Edith Shourds; sisters-in-law, Juanita Davis, Betty Burks, Mae Adkins and Virginia Osburn; a brother-in-law, Carl Osburn (Emma); and several nieces and nephews. OLENE PYLES BOOTON, 98, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Milton United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. by Dr. Lynn Cartwright and Dr. W. Kenneth Pyles. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery Maple Hill Section. The family will receive guests at the church after noon. Olene was a retired employee of Huntington Manufacturing and a member of the Milton United Methodist Church. She was a seamstress, a quilter, and an avid gardener. Olene was born on Oct. 29, 1914, in Wayne County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Ward Hunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Booton; four brothers, Herbert, Allen, Garnet and Aubrey Hunter; and five sisters, Alma Eden, Avis Grose, Norma Barbour, Orfa Akers and Opal Booten. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. W. Kenneth and Judy of Summerfield, Fla., and a stepson, Charles Edward Booton of Wayne, W.Va.; two grandchildren, David J. Pyles of Medford, Ore., and Amy J. Pyles of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and 12 nieces and nephews. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and loved to hunt and fish. HOWARD ROBERTSON, 82, of Kiahsville, W.Va., passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Pres Friley Cemetery at Kiahsville. He was born Jan. 23, 1930, at Fort Gay, W.Va., a son of the late William and Idella Webb Robertson. Howard was a retired machinist for General Motors and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was known for his boxing talents. He was also a former pastor of the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. He loved woodworking, hunting, and listening to country and gospel music. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Amy Williamson, Pansy Wiley and Mabel Robertson; and his brothers, Homer, Kenneth, Eathel, Earl and brothers very special to him, Theron and Cullie Robertson. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nora Emma "Tunie" Watts Robertson, who was also his childhood friend and sweetheart; a daughter, Patricia Ann Fuller (Charles) of Rio Grande, Ohio; three sons, James Howard Robertson (Marie who is deceased), Robert Dale Robertson (Vangie) and Curtis Ray Robertson (Lisa), all of Kiahsville, W.Va.; a sister, Dorothy Dean (Burl) of Ranger, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Leanette Grimm (Chris), Amanda Robertson, Amelia Robertson, Jesse Stacy (Melissa), Jamie Robertson (Amanda), Christopher Robertson, Derick (Betina) Robertson and Aaron Robertson; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends. AUDREY ROBERTS BURGESS BOOTH, 85, of Louisa, Ky. died peacefully at Three Rivers Medical Center on December 31, 2012. She spent her final days surrounded by her loving family. Audrey was born on September 23, 1927 in Aflex, Ky. to the late George and Cornis Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Quinton Burgess, Louisa, Ky., daughter Leah Burgess Davis, and brother Bobbie F. Roberts. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Louisa. Audrey was a graduate of Fort Gay High School, She was an accomplished trombonist having earned first chair in the West Virginia All State Band four consecutive years. She graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Adult and Continuing Education. She taught Adult Education in Wayne County, W.Va. Her teaching career was filled with students who loved and respected her, and whose lives were better for having learned from her. After retiring from teaching, she was fortunate enough to travel extensively to destinations around the world. Few are blessed with a life as filled with love and joy as Audrey. She truly loved having fun, and was never happier than when surrounded by her family and friends. Her joyful sense of humor and prolific laughter were well known by those close to her. Perhaps her greatest source of joy was caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of whom she was fiercely proud. The love of music that was such an important part of her life blossomed in the generations following her, and she took every opportunity to sing and play with her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Charley Edwin Booth, one sister, Valeria Ryan, Louisa, Ky., brother Ron Roberts, Ft. Gay. W.Va., son Jeff Burgess (Kathy), Lexington, Ky., daughter Jane Wallen (David), Louisa, Ky., son-in-law Kerry Davis, Lexington, Ky., grandchildren Addie and Blair Frias (Manual), Michael Burgess and Lauren Child (Nick), Emily Martin (Chris) Seth Wallen and Joseph Wallen, as well as seven great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Friday 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, Louisa, Ky. Interment followed at the Burgess Family Cemetery, Louisa. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 - 9:00 pm at Young Funeral Home Louisa, Ky.
