DELORIS FAYE CHAFIN ADKINS, 77, of Huntington, WV, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Willis Mills. Burial will follow at Kelly Perry Cemetery, East Lynn, WV. She was born August 31, 1937 in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Wallace Greenway Chafin and Martha Katherine Riggs. Faye was a retired packer at American National Rubber, and was a member of Spring Valley Freewill Baptist Church. Two sons, Jarret Leon and Jerry Smith also preceded her in death, along with a sister, Lola Davis; three brothers, Richard Chafin, Floyd Douglas Chafin and Marvin Ray Chafin. Survivors include her loving husband, Waldo Adkins; three daughters, Oreathia Adkins and husband, Jack of East Lynn, WV, Judy Kay Caldwell and husband, Darrell of Kenova, WV, Joyce Ann Belcher and husband, Sam of Wayne, WV; three sons, Wallace Harvey Smith and wife, Diana of Huntington, WV, Larry Smith and wife, Sherry of Wayne, WV, Curtis Smith and wife, Laura of Heath, OH; a step-daughter, Barbie McDilda; two sisters, Judy Drenner of Huntington, Charlott Adkins and husband, Braxton of Huntington; three brothers, Willie Chafin of Huntington, WV, Jerry Chafin and wife, Betty of Kenova, WV, Phillip Chafin and wife, Catherine of Wayne, WV; a special grandson, Jonathan Kinser; special niece Sherry Chafin, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and two step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. WILLIAM EDGAR JENKINS "HIPPIE", 84, of East Lynn, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Emmanuel Community Church in Huntington, WV, with Pastor Daniel Chapman & Pastor Phil Chapman officiating. William was born on January 8, 1931, in Cabell County, WV to the late Chancie Jenkins and Amanda Gifford Jenkins. He worked as a foreman for Heath Construction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Margaret Stephenson and Sharon K. Marshall. Surviving is his loving companion Patricia Fraley, two brothers Carl Jenkins and Don Jenkins both of Barboursville, WV, two grandchildren Bill Wascavage and John Hoffman and 8 great grandchildren. Per Williams wishes, he will be cremated. Morris Funeral Home, Wayne is in charge of the arrangements.
STEPHANIE JEAN THOMPSON WARD, loving wife of Roger Ward and beloved daughter of Bill and Teresa Terry Thompson, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. She was born August 14, 1971, in Huntington, W.Va., and was a graduate of Buffalo High School and had earned a Master's degree at Marshall University where she was a voice major. She was a pianist, choir director and soloist for many years at the East Lynn Baptist Church where she was a charter member. She is presently a member of the Buffalo Valley Baptist Church and sang in many local churches and on numerous recordings. Stephanie was a theatre teacher at Spring Valley High School and had been named "Teacher of the Year" for Wayne County Schools, and also "Theatre Teacher of the Year" for West Virginia. She had also been presented the WSAZ-TV Hometown Hero award. All of her accomplishments were made while facing many physical obstacles. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Lucian and Jean Thompson and Kathleen and Henry Terry, and her aunt Betty Maynard Shelton. Additional survivors include her father-in-law, Emery Ward, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and her church family, students and friends whom she loved dearly. She will continue to inspire us and be remembered for her strength of character, joy of living, love of the Lord, and love of people. She was always thinking of others before herself, and everything she did in life was a reflection of her faith. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. McElroy, Dr. Collins, nurses Rebecca, Linda, Patty, Missy and Jackie for their loving care. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, W.Va., with Pastor Tim Jayne officiating. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens at Wayne. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cabell-Wayne Association of the Blind.
BRIAN JEFFERY WATTS, 50, of Kenova, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, at his residence. He was born March 10, 1964, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Viola Ferguson Watts and the late Rev. Louis Raymond Watts. He was employed with National Wood Products and was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Brian attended the Dock's Creek Missionary Baptist Church and the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. Besides his mother he is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brian Louis Watts (Amanda) of Wayne; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristen Collins (Travis) of Lesage; one brother and sister-in-law, Greg Watts (Debbie) of Proctorville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brian Matthew Watts and Cloie Catherine Collins; two nieces, Jennifer Collins (Mike) and Rachel Evans; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with the American Legion Post #93 Honor Guard conducting military rites. VIRGINIA "MAXINE" WENCLAWSKI, 92, of Huntington, W.Va., went to meet her Savior on Monday, March 2, 2015, at Heritage Center where she was a resident. Previous to that she was a long time resident of Trowbridge Manor. Maxine was born July 2, 1922 in Shoals, W.Va., to the late Fernando and Ada Snider Brumfield. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Johnny and seven siblings. Maxine was a retired carpenter. She was a member of the 9th Avenue Baptist Temple, Eastern Star Lodge #8, and VFW 1064 Ladies Auxiliary. Maxine was an avid bowler and supporter and member of many senior leagues. Maxine leaves behind a brother-in-law, Don Wenslow of Wimauma, Fla., and five people she considered her surrogate children, Connie Yates, Lois Schneider, Toby Friend, Kelli Dailey and Brittany Brownfield. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, March 5 at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour before service time on Thursday.

Sandra was born on July 5, 1948, in Huntington, W.Va., the daughter of Nancy Booth Kilgore and the late Max Kilgore. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a baby brother Larry Dale Kilgore. She was a member of the Beaulah Freewill Baptist Church. Sandra is survived by her husband Larry H. McCloud; mother Nancy Booth Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law Sonya Renee and Blaine Johnson of South Point, Ohio; a step-daughter April Groom of Florida; grandchildren Amber Renee Johnson, Cody James Johnson and Amanda R. Conn and great-grandchild Braylie Renes Murdoch; brothers Rick and Mark Kilgore; sisters Linda Bannister and Karen and Roger Perdue, all of Huntington; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with his grandson Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, WV. He was born on August 25, 1933, in Wayne, WV, to the late Hasten Arthur & Eunice Cyrus Arthur. Paul previously worked in maintenance at the former Mariner Nursing Home. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth, Herman, Raburn, Arvel & Billy Arthur. Surviving is his daughter Deborah Branham of Huntington, WV, two sons Rick Arthur and wife Helen of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Roger Arthur and wife Lou of Lesage, WV, four grandchildren Shelly Rozzi and husband Bryan, Tim Arthur and wife Brittany all of Chesapeake, Ohio, Amber Shafer and husband Lee of Huntington, WV, and Brandon Branham and wife Katty of San Diego, California. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, Brian and Paige Wentz, Addison, Timmy and Isabel Arthur, Johnathon and Natalie Shafer and Samantha and Nicole Branham and a special friend Annis Shoemaker. BETTY JANE BRAINARD WOOD, 92 of Kenova, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at River's Bend Health Care in South Point, Ohio. Betty was born February 12, 1923, in Los Angeles, Calif., a daughter of the late Albert R. and Ida Mae Ware Brainard. Betty had worked for Ford Motor Company and Minter Homes and then took time off to raise her family. She later worked along side her husband at Kenova Box Co., as a bookkeeper and became president after his death. She was happily married to the late Stanley E. Wood for 47 years. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kenova where she had served as their choir director for many years and was a member of the Session. She was also a former member of the Maplewood Garden Club and Kenova's Women's Club. In addition to her parents and husband Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Brainard and Jack Collins. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Louise Anne Wood and Dennis Leu of Village of Green Oaks, Ill., and Nancy Ellen Wood of Kenova; one son and daughter-in-law, Stanley Albert Wood and Pamela Kay Wood of Kenova; five grandchildren, Emily Wood Leu and her husband Dr. David Anthony, Daniel Wood Leu and his wife Katie Leu, Robert Wood Leu and his fiancee Emily Layman, Stanley Adam Wood, Steven Andrew Wood and his wife Jennifer Wood; one great-grandson, Henry Oliver Leu Anthony; and her dear friend Ruth Ellen Meredith. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. MILDRED CONLEY SMITH BROOKS, 90, of Kenova, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. She was born February 7, 1925, in Johnson County, Ky., a daughter of the late Frank and Elsie Whitt Conley. She retired from Duncan Box, where she has worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Westmoreland Baptist Church. In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Roscoe Smith, and her second husband, William Brooks; one sister and five brothers. Mildred is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Brent and Charleen Smith of Kenova; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Glema Grubb of Cannonsburg, Ky. The family will receive friends beginning at noon Tuesday, March 10, 2015, until the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. www.rollinsfh.com.DONNIE L. ROBINSON, 80, of Kenova, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at Rivers Bend Health Care in South Point, Ohio. He was born March 27, 1934, in Shoals, W.Va., a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Brumfield Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Melissa Robinson; and one grandson, Brent Robinson; and his wife, Julia. He retired from Owens Illinois after many years of service. Donnie was an avid sports fan, volunteer coach and very involved with youth sports in the C-K community. He spent 38 years as a referee and umpire. He was involved in his hometown, where he had served as Vice President of Council for the City of Kenova and a volunteer for the Good Samaritan Center. He was a greeter at Kenova United Methodist and had served as a volunteer for the Senior Services at Cabell Huntington Hospital. While he was active in the community, his greatest love was for his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Priscilla Brown Robinson; his son and daughter-in-law, Don A. and Rhonda Castle Robinson of Bradenton, Fla.; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Barry Mosser of Ceredo, W.Va.; three cherished grandchildren, Brad Robinson, Annie Mosser and Will Mosser; and a much loved great-grandson, Landon Mosser. Donnie will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him. We will remember his bright smile and big hugs forever. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Rivers Bend Health Care for their kind and loving care of Donnie. VICTORIA CRANK STEVENS, 20, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., formerly of Prichard, W.Va., passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Rev. Kyle Peake officiating. Burial will follow at the S.D. Copley Cemetery at Dunlow, W.Va. She was born July 13, 1994, at Williamson, W.Va., a daughter of Daniel and Susan Crank Stevens of Prichard, W.Va. She was a homemaker and member of the Kermit United Methodist Church. Her paternal grandparents, Victor and Eula Stevens, preceded her in death. Additional survivors include her companion, Marcus O'Ryan Marcum of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; a daughter, Noella Marie Marcum; a son, Bentley O'Ryan Marcum; a sister, Sarah Stevens of Prichard, W.Va.; her maternal grandparents, James and Bonnie Crank of Kermit, W.Va.; her godparents, Patty and Ronnie Stapleton of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. JETTIE LOUISE DICKERSON, 95, of Kenova, West Virginia, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Huntington, West Virginia. She was born November 22, 1919, in Wayne County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Sanford and Sallie Booten Dickerson. Jettie was a member of 20th Street Baptist Church in Kenova. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters. Jettie is survived by her son Dale Dickerson; several nieces and nephews; a special friend Tish Alexander and special friend and neighbor Donna Taylor. He was born March 2, 1939 in Pontiac, MI, a son of Gerald and June Johnson Roland. Carl was a retired pipe fitter and ordering manager for General Motors and was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in St. Albans, WV. A daughter, Katherine Ann Roland also preceded him in death, along with a sister, Nancy Mason. BILL JIM CLEVENGER, age 86 of 2504 Brush Creek Road, Glade Valley, NC died Monday, March 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1928 in Lawrence County, Kentucky to the late Bill and Opal Marcum Clevenger. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Loray Kitchen Clevenger; one sister, Betty Jo Miller. He was a WWII Veteran serving his country in the Philippines and Japan in the U.S. Army. He was a member of God’s Will Baptist Church. He regularly attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship with Barb and Leonard. He worked for 35 years for the AEP System formerly Ohio Power and he really enjoyed his job and co-workers whom were a big part of his life. He started out climbing poles and retired as Area Division Manager. He loved going to Myrtle Beach and spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren. He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Absher and husband Leonard of Glade Valley; one son, Bill Clevenger; two grandchildren, Candi Clevenger of Columbus, OH, Matthew Walker of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Henry Clevenger and wife Lorriane of Caroll, OH; special caregiver, Velinda Murphy of Ennice; several nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home. He was born on December 27, 1928, in Genoa, W.Va., a son of the late Charley Watts Sr., and Verna Wallace Watts. He was preceded in death by his wife Inas Lynette Riffle Watts and an infant daughter, Verena Paulette Watts and one brother, Charley Watts Jr. Paul's name is on a cornerstone of the church and he was a Deacon of the Philadelphia United Baptist Church in Lavalette, W.Va; a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Tri-State Antique Car Club. Survivors include twin sons, Garry Eugene Watts of Huntington, W.Va., and Larry Charles Watts of Kenova, W.Va.; his daughter Lynda Jane Ackert of Lakewood, Colo.; a daughter-in-law Debbie Heck Watts of Huntington, W.Va., a son-in-law Gary A. She is survived by her daughter Linda Kay Napier Milum of Georgetown, Kentucky; three granddaughters, Bilinda Milum Broughton and her husband Brandon of Georgetown, Ky., Cheryl Goodman Huffman whom she raised, and her husband Wayne of Bridgeport, and Shannon Milum of St. Joseph, Missouri; three great-grandsons whom she adored, Abbott Broughton, Brandon Hatton and Sean Huffman. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mae Jones, Charlotte Boye and Kathryn Dawson; and one brother, Frank Brooks. Mrs. Napier leaves behind many family members and friends whom she dearly loved. The Napiers were the owners of D.E. Abbott and Company custom picture framing for many years in Huntington. Mrs. Napier relocated to Central City and continued her business on her own following the death of her husband. She was strong yet gentle and loved by all who knew her. INEZ JOHNSON, 98, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. She was born December 4, 1916 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine Merritt. Her husband, Earl Johnson also preceded her in death, along with one son, Lynn Dexter Johnson; and all of her brothers and sisters, Nora Smith, Dora Smith, Wiley Merritt, Frank Merritt Jr., Myrtle Mills, Elsie Casteel, Edith Mays, and Oma Sanders. Inez was a homemaker and a member of the Nestlow United Baptist Church. She leaves behind three sons, Roger Johnson of East Lynn, Glenn Johnson and his wife Juanita of Lavalette, and Billy Joe Johnson and his wife Pauline of Illinois; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. FRANKLIN DELANO OSBURN, SR., 78, of Kenova, WV died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born January 5, 1937 a son of the late, Millard V. and Ida Mae Robinson Osburn. Frank was a steel worker. He was married to the late Mary McKenzie Osburn and together they raised their family in Kenova. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. DARLENE VANCE, 69, of Prichard, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at her residence surrounded by loved ones after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on March 13, 1946, in Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ernest and Wavie Vance of Cove Gap. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved son Donald Steven Marcum; three brothers, Ezra Vance, Ernest Vance Jr. and Robert Vance; and three sisters, Pauline Williams, Goldia Williamson and Beatrice Chmielewski. Darlene was a wonderful and much loved mother, grandmother and sister. She truly enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine, gardening, Bible studies and spending time with her family. Her tangible spirit left an impact on all who knew her. Robert was born September 16, 1924 in Cabell County West Virginia a son of the late John Hurston and Sarah Elizabeth Collins McClellan. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Glonda Mary Lea McClellan. He was a retired employee of C & O Railway, a WWII Veteran of the United States Navy, and attended Expression Church of Huntington. ELLA BLANKENSHIP, 88, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was born February 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Charlie Rucker and Ella McCoy Adkins. She was a life long member of Booten Millers Fork United Baptist Church. Ella was a very loving and wonderful person, always standing firm in what she believed. She loved her family with all her heart always putting them before herself. Nothing brought her more joy than having her family around her and serving her Lord. She was also a wonderful caregiver. She and her husband left their home several times to go care for elderly. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Sampson Blankenship; three infant daughters, twins Edell and Idell, and Debbie Blankenship; two grandsons, Cecil Adkins and Wetzle Lambert; two infant great-grand children, Savannah and Nathan Vaughan; and two sisters Rachel Messinger and Edith Byrd. MARGIE W. LESTER, 89, of Galion died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion after a lengthy illness. Born April 29, 1926 in Fort Gay, W.Va. she was the daughter of Havana "Van" and Leona (Vicars) Webb. She married Bill Lester on January 29, 1945 and he preceded her on June 9, 1996. She was a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church in Fort Gay, W.Va. for over 45 years and attended Gospel Baptist Church in Galion as long as her health permitted. Margie worked for Wayne County Community Services in West Virginia before moving to Ohio where she managed Lawson stores in Wooster and Galion with her husband. She is survived by sons Lanny (Anita) Lester of Gallipolis and Michael Lester of Galion; grandchildren Eric (Annette) Lester, Matthew Lester, Nicole (Jimmy) McCoy and Michele (Travis) Tolar; eight great grandchildren; sister Yvonne Mead of Pt. Pleasant, W. Va.; close family friend Sally Streeter who was like a daughter to Margie and Bill; numerous nieces and nephews and friends whom she loved very much. AUDIE MAXINE BARTRAM, 70, of Fort Gay, W.V. passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born December 24, 1944 in Canton, Texas a daughter of the late Joseph and Audie Leach. She was a member of New Life Outreach Church, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Danie Bartram; children, Barbara Leach, twins, Rhonda and Connie Leach; grandson, Joshua M. Currie; siblings, Gene Stebeck, Jimmy Strebeck, Linda Walters, Osborne Leach, Melvin Leach, Margie Westbrook, and Cora Mae Jenson; nephew, Jerry Burt. JANET RUTH CHANDLER BLAIR, 79, wife of Ford Blair, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She was born on June 7, 1935, in Beaver, Ohio, the eldest daughter of the late Edgel and Ova Montgomery Chandler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Frances Perdue. She is survived by her daughter Denise (David) Stombock of Huntington; sisters Betty (Johnnie) Jones and Shirley (Bernard) Sexton; brother-in-law Terry Perdue; and grandchildren Alexandria and Chad Terry. She took great pleasure in watching her granddaughter show horses and her grandson play music. She was a 1953 graduate of Vinson High School and retired after 43 years of service with Stationers/Champion Industries. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Lee Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. KENITH LEE NEWTON, "UNCLE", 60 of Huntington, WV, passed away on March 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 7, 1954 in Huntington, WV; a son of the late Tom Newton and Mary Marie McKenzie Newton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Hensley, his brother, Thomas Newton, a niece, Gail Lynne Eplion and a nephew, Tommy Newton. Kenith is survived by two sisters, Patricia Fern Warden and Deloris Fay Minor; two brothers Larry William "Corky" Newton and Robert Newton; one daughter, Amy Mitchell; two granddaughters, Britni and Mkala. Also surviving are a very special nephew, Jeremy Minor, and a great niece, McKenzie Minor, with whom the depth of his love for these two could not be expressed with mere words, and many other nieces and nephews. VIRGIL ALVIN McMILLION, 78, of Wayne, WV, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Ferguson. Burial followed at the Webb Cemetery, Crum, WV. He was born on March 14, 1937, to the late Virgil McMillion and Florence Evans McMillion. Virgil was a carpet installer and a Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Surviving is his loving companion Linda Picklesimer, two daughters, two sons and one sister. He is also survived by grandchildren Cody and Kayla McMillion, numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Friday.
DONNA JEAN HAZELETT, 74 of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at her residence. Donna was the owner of the Triple-H Drive Inn and a member of the Open Door Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for over twenty years. Additional survivors include her husband of 55 years, Billy Jack Hazelett; one precious daughter and son-in-law Justina and Rob Adkins; three special grandsons, Colby Jack, Brett and fiancé’ Selena, and Derrik Adkins, all of Huntington. She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Marsha O’Dell and sister-in-law and her husband, Nina and Joe Overby and families, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was born January 9, 1927 in East Lynn, W.Va. the son of the late Abbey Thomas and Arona Smith Clark. He was the retired owner of Modern Press Printing Company and Boxing Club in Huntington, W.Va, State Chief Department Commissioner of Athletics for West Virginia, coached and promoted the Golden Gloves Boxing, honorary member of the Fraternal Order of Police, member of the Ringside Bros. Association, member of Kellogg Church of God and attended Christ Temple Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Jean Wilson Clark; one sister, Helen Clark; three brothers, Cumberland, Abbey T. and Don F. Clark and one grandson, Mathew Kirk Adkins. He is survived by four children, Sheila Clark Adkins (John) of Ceredo, W.Va., John K. Clark (Erin) of Grayson, KY, Jennifer K. JOHN HARDING BROWN, 94, of Ceredo, WV, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015. He was born March 7, 1921, the son of the late Henry B. Brown and Alice Jane Brinkley Brown. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Juanita Dean Brown, February 16, 2015. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Burl Brown, Jr., William Brown (infant), Joshua Boyd Brown, George Delbert Brown, Bennie Earl Brown and three sisters, Eula Mae Dishman, Mattie Virginia Ramey, and Helen Louise Brown. He was a retired Road Master with Norfolk and Western Railway and a veteran having served in the US Army during World War II. John was also a 50 year member of the Crescent Lodge #32 AF & AM. John and his wife were blessed with three daughters, Kathy Jane Halley (John) of Huntington, WV, Sharon Kay Ronk (Ron) of Elizabethtown, KY, and Debra Dean Suiter of Ceredo, WV. John cherished his five grandchildren, Keri Frazier, Jason Frazier (Christina), Mary Beth Keffer (Steven), Justin Suiter (Katie), and Jonathan Ronk (Hannah) and his precious great-grandchildren, Ian Jacob, Payton, Kaylynn, Annaleigh and Rylie. Additional survivors include many nieces and nephews which include nieces Carole Adkins (Otis), Janice Staley, Brenda Dishman, Sheila Wheeler who visited him frequently and a nephew whom he loved as a son, Johnny Mack Brown, Naples, FL., also a special friend and caregiver Melissa Effingham. ROBERT J. "DUKE" SIMMONS, 77 of Lavalette, W.Va, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born February 6, 1938 in Cabell County, W.Va a son of the late Charles and Lillian Rudd Simmons. Robert served in the U. S. Army, where he served as a tank driver, while stationed in Germany. He retired as a painter for ACF Industries with 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. Duke is survived by two children and their spouses.
