JAMES WALDEN LAMBERT, Jr., 89, of Huntington, formerly of Wayne, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Brother Dolphus Perry and Elder Charles O. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, WV. He was born on May 28, 1926, at Pikeville, KY, to the late James Walden Lambert and Ellen Maynard Lambert Breeding. James was an Army veteran, a former teacher at Wayne Grade School and Dunlow Grade School and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Murl Jean Adkins Lambert and second wife Verna Seay Lambert. Survivors include his two daughters, Paulette Moon and Robin Napier (Don) all of Huntington, WV, two sons Randy Lambert of Dayton, Ohio and David Lambert (Gail) of Kenova, WV. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marissa Dilldine and Michael Lambert both of Dayton, Ohio, Tim Moon of Clemson, South Carolina, Rachael Isaacs, Stacy Jackson, Andrea Lambert, Rebecca Adkins and Heather Clayborne all of Huntington, WV, and Jessica Akers of Prichard, WV and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

SHIRLEY CROCKETT, 98, of Debary, Fla., formerly of Wayne County, W.Va., and Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Sanford, Fla. She was born September 20, 1917 in Wayne, W.Va., a daughter of the late Taylor and Rebecca Powers Ross. Her husband Carroll Crockett also preceded her in death along with one son, Douglas Crockett. The last surviving of ten children, Shirley now joins sisters, Pearl Ross, Hazel Cline, Oma Sansom, Elva Workman, Ruby Vaughan, Ruth Booth, Judy Ross, Mary Ashworth and brother, Muss Ross. She was a member of the Volusia County Baptist Church. She leaves behind one son, Carlos Crockett (Carolyn) of Orange City, Fla.; two grandsons, Carlos Gary Crockett II of Leesburg, Fla., and Sean Crockett (Diane) of Deltona, Fla.; four great grandchildren, Douglas Bear Crockett of Mt. Dora, Fla., Danielle Crockett of Leesburg, Jerika Soyars (Daniel) of Deltona, and Samson Crockett of Deland, Fla.; and two great-great grandsons, Brantley Crockett, and Asher Soyars; and nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at Johnson Tiller funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. BETTY JO HEATH, 83, of Crum, WV passed away Wednesday December 2, 2015 at Three rivers Medical Center following a brief illness. Betty was born Nov. 1, 1932 at Williamson, WV the daughter of the late Claude and Vada Runyons Vernatter. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters Claudette Haberer of Chapmansville, WV and Linda Penny Copley of Camp Creek, WV; three sons Jimmy Gantt of Milton, WV, Douglas and Mark Heath both of Crum, WV; Six sisters Roxie Dotson, Jannie Holman, Juanita Blackburn, Cloann Copley, Lummie Brown and Lorene Brown; two brothers Ted and Otis Vernatter, 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted on Friday December 4th at the Vernatter Cemetery at Crum, WV. Care has been entrusted to Wilson funeral Home.

BEULAH PERMILLA KAZEE, 52, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday December 5, 2015, at Grace Gospel Church, of which she was a member, with Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr. officiating, with an interpreter for the deaf. Beulah was born February 28, 1963, in Beckley, W.Va. a daughter of the late Sherman and Sarah Jane Bowden Kazee. Survivors include Willam Kazee (Eva) of Kenova, Linda Keith (Ronnie) of Willis, Va., Monica McComas (Don) of Proctorville, OH and Warren Kazee of Kenova. She is also survived by three nieces Sarah, Sammie and Kimberly; five nephews, Adam, Gary, Clayton, Sherman and Chad; several great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great nephew. friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. SUSIE ELLEN SCARBERRY, 87, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at home. She was a pharmacy tech for Kmart. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Wayne County. She was born July 29, 1928, in Ardell, W.Va., Wayne County, a daughter of the late Mack and Vada Marshall Morris. Two sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kimberly Scarberry with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Christopher Scarberry and fiancée, Meagan, and Tiffany Davis; one sister, June Fraley; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie Davis, Chase Davis and Rylan Scarberry. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Monday at the funeral home. In loving memory of JUANITA WATTS LAFFERTY FOSTER, 97, of Huntington, W.Va., who departed this life on December 3, 2015, for her heavenly Home to be with her Lord and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Pharaoh Watts and Tennie Copley Watts; a dear son Gary R. Lafferty; and great grandson Matthew Kirk, whom she missed so very much; seven brothers, two sisters, three nephews and one stepson. She was also preceded in death by her former husbands George Lafferty and Kenny Foster; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. She leaves behind to mourn her loss a wonderful son David Lafferty (Helen) of Huntington; grandchildren, Sherry Ball (Rick), Ronnie Lafferty (Stephanie), Brett Lafferty, Teresa Kartheiser (John), David A. Lafferty and Derek Lafferty (Ashley), great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, who were very precious to her and whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Doralene Foster Dowis of Huntington; a niece, one nephew, several cousins and many friends. She was a member of Baptist Temple Church for several years. She was retired from the beauty profession, having owned her own beauty shop for more than 50 years. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2015, at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior with Rev. J. Andrew Magnusson officiating. RANDY LEE DAMRON, 50, of Prichard, W.Va., died at his home on Friday, December 4, 2015. He was born on August 21, 1965, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Darrell Damron of Prichard, W.Va., and the late Catherine Mathis Damron. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Kay Napier. In addition to his father, he is survived by his best friend and son, Justin Pierce of Wayne, W.Va.; three brothers, Willis Ray Damron of Prichard, Thelmer Damron, and Elmer Damron (Brenda) all of Kenova; brother-in-law, Bobby Napier of Prichard; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Connie, Richard, Jonathon, Tahanna, and Jennifer. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sam Damron Cemetery. CARL DAVID "SLICK" CLAY, 53, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at home following a long illness. He was born May 6, 1962 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Norma and Carl Clay. A 1980 graduate of Wayne High School, David was a diesel mechanic with Ryder Truck for 34 years and a member of the Teamsters Union. He leaves behind his best friend and loving companion, Cora Tomblin; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Jean Tomblin; Lora Maynard of Wayne, whom he considered a daughter; and her children Colt and Kinslee, whom he adored; special friends Sharon & Tracy Gilkerson of Wayne; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery. HENRY LAWRENCE JACKSON, 68, of Genoa, widower of Vickie Spears, died Dec. 5, 2015 at home. He was born August 26, 1947 in Rittman, Ohio, a son of the late Henry Asbury Jackson and Mary Louisa Ferguson Jackson. His brother, Denny Jackson also preceded him in death, along with his former wife, Vickie Spears. Survivors include five daughters, Amy Spears, Angela Jackson, Tonya Spears, Kimmy Spears and Tracy Spears all of Houston, TX; two sons, Christopher Jackson of Fort Gay, WV and Eric Jackson of Houston, TX; a brother, Joe Jackson of Wayne, WV; and twenty four grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, WV. Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne is in charge of the arrangements.

WILLIAM FRED MARTIN, 93, of Ceredo, WV passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Wayne Continuous Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born September 12, 1922 in Weston, WV a son of the late Fred Lee and Artha Gifford Martin. He was a veteran of WWII and retired from the maintenance dept. of Ashland, Oil. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Irene R. Helmick Martin and one brother, Burl Martin, two sisters Genevieve Swiger and Beatrice Hardman. Survivors include his wife Jean Sellers Martin, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Burl W. (Christa) Martin of Chesapeake, OH, James M. Martin of Kenova, WV and two grandchildren, Lisa R. HARRISON "JUNE" BRADSHAW, Jr. age 83, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. He was born July 12, 1932 in Wayne, WV and was the son of the late Harrison Bradshaw Sr. and Talitha (Carter) Bradshaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Harrison Lee Bradshaw III., and one brother, Robert Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw taught mechanics at Huntington East High School and Petersburg Vocational Center for several years. He owned and operated Bradshaw’s V.W. Service in Petersburg until his retirement. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and life member of Potomac Highlands VFW Post 6454. He was a member of Grove Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg. Mr. Bradshaw is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois (Chaney) Bradshaw; four sons, George Bradshaw and wife Patricia of Petersburg, WV, Eugene Bradshaw and wife Debbie of Chilton, WI, Timothy Bradshaw of Green Bay, WI and Wendell Dale Bradshaw and wife, Ellen of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters, Dreama Karnes-Bynane and husband David of Harpers Ferry, WV and Angela K. Bradshaw of Pittsburgh, PA; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Bradshaw and Janice of Huntington, WV and Van Bradshaw and wife Alvaretta of Huntington, WV and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 2 p.m at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Doyle Payne officiating. Family will receive friends 1 -2 p.m. at the funeral home. HELEN LOUISE DINGESS, 86, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Wayne County, widow of Denver Dingess, died Dec. 6, 2015. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Highland Memory Gardens, Godby, W.Va. Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Chapmanville, W.Va., is handling local arrangements.

JAMES FOSTER MATHIS, 78, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, December 07, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born June 7, 1937 in Logan County, W.Va., to the late Boyd and Maxie Maynard Mathis. He was the loving widower of Clo Ann Dickerson Mathis and the wonderful father of James Darren Mathis. A 1957 graduate of Wayne High School, James served in the U.S.Army and retired from Owens-Illinois. He is survived by one sister, Mary Sue Ferguson (Willis) of Wayne, W.Va.; daughter-in-law Lisa Marie Mathis of Huntington; as well as many friends and church members he considered family. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all that knew and loved him. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Rev. JULIA ANN MCCOY, 58, of Kiahsville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, Kiahsville, WV with Rev. Frankie Frye officiating. Burial will follow at the Ward Cemetery, Ranger, WV. Julia was born on April 2, 1957, at Ranger, WV, to the late Kyle and Julie Walker Mabry. She previously worked as a CNA at Wayne Nursing and Rehab. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant grandson, Robert Pyles and five brothers, Bob, Joe, Kyle Jr., Bill and Jerry Mabry. Survivors include her loving husband Earl Ray McCoy, daughter Carol Sue McCoy of Ashland, KY, two sons, Earl McCoy, Jr. (Kristie) of Huntington, WV, and Luther Ray McCoy (Mary) of Kiahsville, WV, two sisters Ruby Adkins (James) and Helen White all of Ranger, WV and a brother Lacy Mabry of Ranger, WV. Julia is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Amber Faith McCoy, Nicole Miles, Gloria Copley, Breanna Miles, Leigha McCoy, Hailee Grace McCoy and Judee Anne McCoy. WILLIAM MARION MORRIS JR., 73, of Kenova, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on October 30, 1942 in Huntington, a son of the late William Marion Morris Sr. and Margaret Laird (Faulkner) Morris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Hall. He is survived by his sons, William Morris III of Kenova and John (Yvette) Null of Huntington; the mother of his sons, Connie; sister, Patricia Ann Mullett; brother Phillip Russell Morris; granddaughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Null; niece, Melinda Jane Hensley; and nephew, Larry Mullett II. Mr. Morris was a member of New Baptist Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and was the manager of the gun department at Mack and Dave's for the past 56 years. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Ron Burnsworth officiating. GLEN EDWARD LETT, 72, of Pickerington, Ohio, formerly of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015. He was born May 7, 1943 in Wayne, W.Va., a son of the late William and Florence Lett. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Garman Lett, McDonald Lett, and Billy Joe Lett, and three sisters, Arella Leep, Trudie Stevens, and Florie Maynard. Glen was a veteran of the US Army and retired machinist. Survivors include his daughter Karen Kinney (George Kovar) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one son, Glen Lett Jr. (Kimberly) of Huntington; five granddaughters; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, John Lett of Prichard, W.Va.; two sisters, Virgie Lett, also of Prichard, and Nancy Donahoe of Wayne, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmon Cemetery. WINFIELD "WINDY" COPLEY, 85, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Wayne County, West Virginia, son of Mary Copley, departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2015, while in Hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceding him in death was his mother Mary and a sister Frankie. His wife Jane (Kobella) Copley survives. Also surviving are brothers Lafe and his wife Doris Copley, Raymond "Ray" Copley, Monroe Perry and Robert "Bob" Perry all of Cleveland, OH; sister Emaline Hagist of Lavalette, WV. They owned and operated West Park Auto Care on Cleveland’s west side for many years and he was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea

RICHARD O'DELL ADKINS, 65, of Wayne, WV, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, With Pastor Johnny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Richard Adkins Family Cemetery, Wayne, WV. He was born on December 10, 1950, at West Hamlin, WV, to the late Cephas Adkins and Mollie Mae Boggs Adkins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Talmadge, Edgar and Timothy Adkins and sisters Loretta Evans and Ethel Tabor. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Norma "Sue" Staley Adkins, son Richard "Adam" Adkins, sister Sharon Aliff and husband George, brother Curtis Adkins all of Wayne, WV, brother Carroll Adkins and wife Connie of Genoa, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. MARY CATHERINE GRAY WILLIAMSON, 67, of Wayne, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV, with Pastor Fred Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Community Memorial Gardens at Wayne. She was born June 12, 1948 at Terra Alta, WV, a daughter of the late William and Barbara Lee Sisler Gray. Mary was a retired librarian for Wayne Elementary School and was instrumental in establishing "Miss Mary's" back-pack ministry at Wayne Elementary. She was a faithful member of the Wayne Baptist Church for many years and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Williamson. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Thomas and husband, Tom of Lavalette, WV, her son, Richard Lively and wife, Shona of Wayne, WV, and a very special grandson, Reece Lively, with whom she enjoyed many Marshall football games. BARBARA ELLEN SUTHERLAND, 64, of Dunlow, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at home. Born June 16, 1951 at Dunlow, W.Va., Barbara was a Wayne County Assessor, the secretary of the Women’s Democratic Committee, and a member of the Fairmont Baptist Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star 160 Crum Chapter. She leaves behind her husband, Lowell Sutherland; her parents, Hobert and Mary Ann Crum whom she cared for daily; one daughter, Lesa Marcum (James), all of Dunlow; two sons, Hobert Sutherland (Tina) of Wayne, W.Va., and Lowell Sutherland II (Angela) of Dunlow; 11 grandchildren; one sister Patricia Beckett (Tommy) also of Dunlow; and a host of friends and family too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brothers Aaron Walker and Emmanuel Ferguson, and Pastor Willis Mills officiating. MARY JANE REYNOLDS, 76, of Wayne, WV died Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenneth Cade officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Cemetery, Wayne, WV. She was born January 18, 1939 in Wayne, WV, a son of the late Thomas Woodrow Pinson and Marjoria Stephens Pinson. Mary Jane was a seamstress for Maidenform and was a member of the Beulah Freewill Baptist Church. Her brother, Gerald Pinson also preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Robert Glen Reynolds; a daughter, TammiDillon and husband, Vince; two sons, Robert Scott Reynolds and wife, Sharon, Jonathon Reynolds and wife, Amanda all of Wayne, WV; two sisters, Doris Murray and husband, Roger of Catlettsburg, KY, Deeane "Dean" Sidenstricker and husband, Richard of TN; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. SHIRLEY HESTER OSBURN NICELY, age 102, 11 months, of Raceland, Ky., formerly of Barboursville, W.Va., widow of Arlie Nicely, passed away December 14, 2015, at Oakmont Manor. She was born January 1, 1913, in Wayne County, daughter of the late Sanders and Martha Adkins Osburn. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters; son-in-law, Wandel Eplin; son Lyman Darrel Nicely and his wife Shirley Fisher Nicely; and granddaughter Debra Lynn Hambrick. She is survived by one daughter Martha Nicely Eplin; sister-in-law Anita Nicely; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. LESLIE ISAACS SR., 89, of East Lynn, WV, left his family and earthly life on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 to rejoin family members gone on before and to begin his new life in his home in Heaven. He was born August 26, 1926, in Wayne County, WV, the son of the late Albert and Sarah Ann Smith Isaacs. He was a member of Big Lynn freewill Baptist Church where he served as an anointed, ordained deacon since 1988. He was a respected World War II and Korean War Veteran serving as a military policeman. He worked most of his life as a coal miner and also at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, WV. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life of 66 years, Mary Lou Ross Isaacs. Also preceding him in death were 4 sons, Leslie Isaacs Jr., James David Isaacs, Timothy Edward Isaacs and Johnathan Isaacs, two brothers, Bev and Charlie Isaacs, two sisters Alberta Puskas and Cassie Merritt, two great grandsons, Boyd Ray Tomblin and Bryson Matthew Chafin, and a great-great-grandson, Logan Mills. Survivors include his three sons, John (Sue) Isaacs, Michael (Chloe) Isaacs and Brent (Carol) Isaacs, three daughters, Janice Stanley, Catherine (Phillip) Chafin, Carolyn Lee Chafin and a special niece Selena Young whom he considered a daughter, 26 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, several grea- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and Pastor Gordon Workman. Leslie was very well loved and respected by his family, friends and all that knew him. He will be sadly missed. DONNIE EARL HALE, 54, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born June 12, 1961, in Huntington, a son of the late Charles Alfred and Mary Marie Boothe Hale. A stillborn sister Tammy Hale, sister Delores Heaberlin, and one brother James Hale also proceeded him in death. He was Pentecostal by faith. ARBRA DELLA BLEVINS, 73, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, formerly of East Lynn, W.Va., entered into eternal life on Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born February 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Youngea Ville Steele and Louisa Mae Steele. Her brother William Montville Steele also preceded her in death along with two sisters, Ann Marie Parsons, and Eula Mae Borton Duff. Survivors include her husband, Ronald Blevins; one daughter, Lisa Marie Kimbler, both of Canal Winchester; five brothers, Glenn Steele of Clermont, Fla., Youngea V. Steele, Jr. of Sebring, Fla., James David Steele of Huntington, W.Va., Samuel J. Steele of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Carl Steele of Wayne, W.Va.; seven sisters, Eloise Rinehart of Ft. Myers, Fla., Jessie Loraine Williamson of Crown City, Oh., Betty Fay Williamson of Punta Gorda, Fla., Virgie Ruth Oshel of Huntington, Charlotte Louise Lucas of Prichard, W.Va., Wanda Lanette Watts of Huntington, and Naomi Arlene Blankenship of Wayne; and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. ROY L. STUMP, 98, of Louisa, Ky., formerly of Wayne and Stumptown, W.Va., passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Jordan Center Nursing Facility, Louisa. He was born February 1917 in Stumptown, a son of the late Fred and Lydia Stump. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Margaret Loretta Stump; his grandson, Joshua Harless; three brothers; and one sister. Roy was medic in WWII and a retired well tender. Survivors include his daughter, Angela Hayes (Howard); and his great granddaughter, Addisyn Skeens, all of Louisa. RANDALL EUGENE HOUCK, 64, of Gallatin, Tenn., passed away on December 18, 2015. He was born on June 27, 1951 in Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his mother Mona Ann Houck. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Dreama Lawhorn Houck; daughter and son-in-law Alice and Jason Erlewine; his precious grandchildren Jacob, Julianne and Joshua Erlewine; his father Eugene Ralph Houck (Kathy); brothers Terry (Sherry) Houck, Tim (Trenny) Houck and Jon (Alison) Houck and many loving family members and friends. William Harris; her second husband, Ossie Jones; one son, Charles Harris; and a sister, Ethel Michael. She is survived by her children, Billie Smith of Lavalette, William "Skip" Harris (Patricia) of Prichard, Ann Berry (Doug) of Huntington and John Harris (Tammy) of Huntington. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marie Lycan, Richard "Buck" Lykins, Peggy Wellman, Jean Jones, Georgia Smith and Judy Fields; with a host of nieces and nephews. Her family and friends affectionately knew Lois as "Bounce." She was a member of the Lavalette United Methodist Church. She was a talented musician, playing guitar and piano, and leaves her family with cherished memories of her singing, especially her favorite hymns. CECIL ADKINS, 86, of Huntington, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born June 30, 1929 in East Lynn, a son of the late Elmer and Reba Lester Adkins. He was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to sing and cook for all. He will be greatly missed. He was survived by his wife of 65 years Goldie Gladys Chaney Adkins; his two sons and their spouses, Gary Adkins and wife Diana and Terry Adkins and wife Melanie; eight grandchildren, Darik Adkins and wife Kara, Jamison Queen and wife Sara, Jessica Adkins Van Arsdale and husband Mark; and Max, Sam, Jack, Tate and Lilly Adkins; seven great-grandchildren, Addison, Brooke, and Cooper Adkins, Will and Laura Queen, and Luke and Jake Van Arsdale; also his beloved grand-dog and constant companion, Daisy. Cecil was the second of seven children and was survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Adkins Scarberry, Anthony Adkins and wife Sybil, Louise Adkins Maynard and husband JW, and Elmer "Junior" Adkins and wife Agnes; and many loving nieces and nephews. Cecil was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Hope Adkins and Dicyellen Adkins Burns and a granddaughter Laura Lea Queen. Cecil was a US Army veteran and worked at HK Porter Steel and the American Legion Post 93 until his retirement. He was a founding member and elder of Charity United Baptist Church in Huntington and witnessed his faith on a daily basis. Devoted father and sports enthusiast, Cecil was an active, loyal supporter for his sons and grandchildren. Faithful and loving husband, he cared for his precious wife, Goldie, until his final moments. His true and undying love for his family will continue through the generations he has deeply touched. BARBARA JANE (KAZEE) BROWNING, 72, of Ceredo, went to be with the Lord surrounded by family and loved ones after a fearless and courageous battle with breast cancer on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Barbara is survived by eight children, Gary (Tonya) Browning of Austin, TX, Michael (Carmella) Browning of Beckley, W.Va., Lee Browning of Cleveland, Ohio, Ken (Petra) Browning of Springfield Va., Connie (Ike) Gilkerson of Kenova, Kimberly Sullivan of Columbus, Ohio, Rene (Eric) Thomas of Huntington and Jamie Browning of Huntington; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul J. Kazee of Huntington; and five sisters, Joann Greismeir of Hickory N.C., Margaret Drenner and Shirley Clower of Gadston, Ala., Letia Workman of Dallas, Ga., and Marilyn Kazee Perry of Spartanburg S.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones, friends and family members. Barbara was a member of 1st Baptist Church and United Methodist Church both of Ceredo. A devout, lifelong Christian, Barbara attended both churches weekly. Barbara, first and foremost, loved God. Her beautiful and generous spirit touched many, she gave all that she had without a second thought. She loved her family, and her influence can be seen and felt by the love, loyalty and closeness that her family shares with one another. She also enjoyed doing volunteer work,reading, completing the daily crossword puzzle in pen, cooking and celebrating special occasions and hosting large family gatherings. The family would also like to recognize life-long friend and companion, Gary Muncy of Kenova, and thank him for his years of love, support and companionship. She was born on December 25, 1940, at Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Claude Jude and Artie Nettie Johnson Jude. She formerly worked as a CNA in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers L. D. and Daniel Jude. Survivors include her daughter Isabelle Langhans (Wiley), son William Brewer, Sr. (Missy Canterbury) all of Dunlow, WV, four sisters, Judy R. Spaulding of Wilsondale, WV, Virgie A. Perry of Huntington, WV, Sula F. "Sue" Phillips and husband Bill of Waynesburg, PA, and Betty Jane Esque of Huntington, WV, five brothers, Nathan, Clarence and J. B. (Connie) Jude all of Dunlow, WV, Frank Jude of Ft. Gay, WV, and Jimmie Jude of Lucasville, Ohio. CAPTAIN BENJAMIN JOSEPH RONK passed away on December 26, 2015 in Clarksville, TN. Captain Ronk, son of Joseph B. Ronk (Faye) and Belinda Jividen (Glen) all of Kenova, WV. He was preceded in death by grandparents Sterling and Anna Mae Ronk and Wanda J. Seals and step-sister, Andrea J. Pennington. In addition to his parents, he is survived by son, Dylan James Ronk and his mother, Sherry Bernard of Adams, TN; sister, Stacie Ronk Patel (Mukesh) of Holly Springs, NC; step brothers, Paul Malone, Willow Wood, OH, Ricky Jividen, Wheelersburg, LH, Randy Jividen, Kenova, WV and Anthony Jividen (Tammy) of Glenwood, WV; his first wife, Christine Ronk of Wisconsin; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Benjamin went to grade and high school in Ceredo Kenova where he was known as BJ, although he graduated from Seaside High School in California. Over a period marking nearly 25 years, Captain Ronk served his country in varying capacities in uniform. He served eight years in Active Duty as an enlisted soldier, earning the rank of Sergeant, from 1991 to 1999. Through his enlistment he served as a Satellite Communications System Operator-Maintainer in various assignments, including a tour with the White House Office. Captain Ronk commissioned as a warrant officer in 1999 after being selected to attend the Rotary Wing Aviator Course at Fort Rucker, Alabama, serving another 12 years and seven months Active Duty from 1999 to 2012 as a UH-60 Pilot. During this time he successfully completed the UH-60 Instructor Pilot Course (2004) to become an instructor pilot at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Captain Ronk attended the Physician Assistant Course and Army Flight Surgeon Primary Course in 2012 before commissioning as a First Lieutenant to serve his first assignment as a medical provider at 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He completed his career as the 501st Area Support Medical Company Treatment Platoon Physician Assistant with the 86th Combat Support Hospital. His current term of service was to expire in March 2016. During these periods of service, overseas and temporary duty locations included: Korea (1993-1994 and 2001- 2002); Afghanistan, "Operation Enduring Freedom" (2002-2003); Iraq, "Operation Iraqi Freedom" (2004-2005 and 2005-2006); and Liberia, "Operation United Assistance" (2015). Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the 13th Street Baptist Church in Ashland, KY. Funeral services will begin immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Grayson, KY.

MONNIE DORENE LINVILLE ADKINS (Sweetie Pie), 77 of Ranger, WV formerly of Palermo, WV went to be with Jesus on Sunday December 27, 2015 at home after a long illness. She was born November 12, 1938, a daughter of the late Kermit and Ada Linville. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dottie Cummings, Lora Mae Chambers, and Doris Linville; two brothers Maxwell Linville and Darris Linville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ranger United Baptist Church. Frances previously worked as a Lab Technician for Allied Chemical in Hopewell, Va. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Ray L. Bradshaw, brother Eddie Farley and great grandchild Brian Christian. Survivors include her loving husband, Woodrow Bradshaw, grandchildren, Kim, Stacy, Jonathan, Christopher, Tony Hanby, Ray L. FRANK B. DEAN, 94, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1921, son of the late Okey James and Maude (Bradshaw) Dean. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Frank was a Christian and a member of Canada Chapel Church. Frank was an avid Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rebecca Mae (McSweeney) Dean, brothers Homer, Edgar, Donald and Charlie Dean, and sisters Ruby France and Manda Lou Adkins. Those left to cherish his memory are sisters Betty Napier and Dot Stiltner; children Anna (Carl) Russell, Pat (Bernard) Sansom, Eli (Debbie) Dean, Kay (Tiny) Stiltner, Johnny Lynn (Mark)Ross, Tina (John) Perdue, and Jo (Will) Bullock; grandchildren Amy (Bob), Jennifer (Charlie), Jason Dean, Gary (Sarah), Tiffany (Chris), Shawn (Shannon), Kyle Stiltner, Erin (Casey), Caylin (Anthony), Jacquelyn (Garrett), Nichole (Justin); great-grandchildren, Emily, Morgan, Cole, Olivia, Hannah, Shaymus, Chloe, Vada, Liam,Ella, Aubree, Brody, Marleigh, Kyson, and Ibree; caregivers Katie and Rosa; special nephews Ronnie and Dean; and long- ime friend, Jackie Terry. Friends called from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Johnny Jackson and Otis Bowens officiating. Burial followed at the Dean Cemetery at Wayne with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova. LENORA G. ROSS, 79, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 31, 2015, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Jerry Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Lenora was born July 22, 1936, in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Joe and Elsie Marshall Adkins. She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Basil Ross. Survivors include her son, William Joseph Ross of Huntington; a grandson, William Christopher Ross of Kenova; a granddaughter, Joni Leigh Ross of Huntington; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Rena Fay Jones; and a brother, David Lee Adkins, both of South Point, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Christi, Shawn, Bobby and Charlie; two sisters-in-law, Carma Lee Pinson and Bernice Mitchell.
