MARVIN KENT ADKINS, 54, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Wayne, husband of Pamela Adkins, died Oct. 1, 2017 in Kobacker Hospice House, Columbus. He was owner of M.K. Adkins and Associates geological services. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimers Association or The American Cancer Society. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Stonybrook United Methodist Church, 485 Cherry Bottom Road, Gahanna. Local visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne, at which time the funeral procession will depart for graveside services at Elmwood Cemetery, near his family farm.

PATRICIA ANN "PAT" GRAHAM SALMONS, 77, of Kenova, W.Va., passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Pat was born November 13, 1939, a daughter of the late Garfield Graham and Maude Evelyn Caldwell Graham Noble. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Salmons; a baby girl, Karen Michelle Salmons; and a sister-in-law, Betty Graham. Pat was a 1957 graduate of Ceredo Kenova High School. She worked for many years as an administrative clerk for C-K Video. She was a member of Kenova United Methodist Church, where she attended the Upper Room Sunday School Class and was an active member of the telephone prayer chain. Pat loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. She was especially proud of her grandson, Cole, who was the light of her life. She is survived by one son, Clyde William "Bill" Salmons of Hurricane, W.Va.; one daughter, Diana Lynn Salmons of Ceredo, W.Va.; one grandson and his wife, Cole Wesley (Catherine) Salmons of Morgantown, W.Va.; a brother, Jack Graham of Lavalette, W.Va.; a sister, Diana L. Hooker of Pensacola, Fla., and her daughter, Deona; a niece and her husband, Linda (Richard) Burns of Lavalette, W.Va., and their children, Zachary and Sarah Burns; two aunts, Nora Hodge and Nellie Ferguson, both of Kenova, W.Va.; and her best friend of 65 years, Sheila Wheeler of Kenova, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Kenova United Methodist Church of Kenova. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the church with Pastor Charles Williams officiating and Pastor Jim Richards assisting. MARY ANN DEAN, 43, of Ft. Gay passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home. Mary Ann is survived by her parents, James and Judy Dean of Ft. Gay, a daughter Lakyn Leeann Bryant, three brothers, James A Jimmy@ Dean II, David Dean and Fred Dean and several nieces and nephews along with a host of family and friends. Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which are private.

SAMUEL "EDDIE" SIMMONS, 43, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, W.Va., with Reverend Amos Simmons and Pastor Michael Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. He was born February 12, 1974, at Huntington, W.Va. He was the son of Samuel Andrew and Cora Lou Simmons of Huntington, W.Va. Additional survivors include three sisters, Kari Runyon (Billy Dell) of Wayne, Kim Ferguson of South Carolina and Carla Ferguson of California; one brother and best friend, Matthew Simmons (Kathy) of Wayne; nieces and nephews, Gracie, Kinley, Kyson, Kyley and Russell. Eddie had many hobbies, but his greatest joy was spending time with his nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, W.Va.

EARL ADKINS, 80, died Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born in Chattaroy, West Virginia, on September 20, 1937, Earl lived most of his life in Kenova and graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1956. He was the son of Herbert and Sadie (Varney) Adkins. Earl worked as a building contractor for more than 50 years, building churches, businesses, and countless custom homes, and in the last 28 years passed on his skills, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence to his son, Jerry. One of Earl's passions was the growth of God's kingdom; over the years, he encouraged and worked alongside pastors who were planting new churches in the Tri-State area. His life and his work earned Earl the respect of everyone who knew him. Earl's life is best summed up in what he loved: God, his wife, his children, and his church (the Kenova Church of God, where he was a member for 50 years, serving as a trustee and a member of the pastor's council). He also loved his work, building the places families call "home" and the building where he and his fellow church members worshipped the God who is near to the brokenhearted and who heals their broken hearts. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Sharla Marie (Thacker) Adkins; two sons, Jeffery Earl Adkins (wife, Amy) and Jerry David Adkins; and two daughters, Karen Marie Adkins and Rebecca Adkins Messinger; 10 grandchildren (Jacob Adkins and his wife Krista, Caleb Adkins and his wife Jihye, Daniel Adkins, Zachary Adkins and his wife Stephanie, Clay Messinger, Leah Adkins, Molly Messinger, Tyler Adkins, Levi Adkins and his wife Josie, and Jack Messinger); five great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen Adkins and his wife, Jennifer; two sisters, Edith Pulley and Geraldine Light and her husband Don; and three sisters-in-law, Ermalene Adkins, Lucretia Webb and her husband Joe, and Ginger Weber and her husband Dick. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Adkins and Ellis Adkins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Lola Thacker; his sister-in-law, Jerry Lou Adkins; and his brother-in-law, Milton Pulley. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 9; the funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 10. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Rabun Haddock and Rev. Ernest Pennington. All services will be held at the Kenova Church of God at 1601 Maple Street. Earl will be buried at the Dock's Creek Cemetery. NORMA ANN (DIXON) BOOTH, 83 of Ceredo, went on vacation to the Paradise of God on Friday, October 6, 2017. She was born August 25, 1934, in Wayne County to the late Leonard and Daisy (Michaels) Dixon. She was preceded in death by her half-sister, Betty Brown, and one son, James P. Booth Sr. She leaves behind to mourn her loss, her loving husband of 68 years, McDonald Booth; two daughters, Debbie Mae Sansom (Danny) and Sheila Lykins (Lloyd), all of Ceredo; and one son, Leonard Booth (Cheryl) of Colorado. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild that's on the way. Also surviving is a host of other family members and friends. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington and Calvin and Gail Walters for all they have done for Mother and all who have kept our Mother and Father and our family in prayer. SHARON KAYE ADKINS, 74, of Ceredo, WV, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Whitcomb Towers. Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph, Mich., is in charge of arrangements.

JEFFREY LEE NOLAN, 47, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Jeff was born May 30, 1970, the son of Frances White Nolan and the late Alfred Nolan. He was a police officer at the Tri-State Airport. In addition to his mother, he is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Shawna and Michael Taylor; one brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Cynthia Nolan; eight nieces and nephews, Braden, Caleb, Aiden and Devin Taylor, Michael Nix, Courtney, Tyler and Ryan Nolan; great nieces and nephews, Kayden and Emma Nix and Levi Bouck. BERTIS "NAN" CAMPBELL, 96, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Dr. C.J. Adkins. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born September 1, 1921, in Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Sena Maynard. She was a retired employee of the S&H Green Stamp Store. She was the oldest member of Westmoreland Baptist Church. She raised her siblings, daughter, grandsons and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Campbell, a brother, Curtis Maynard, and a sister, Alma Keeney. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia L. Frye, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Gary Frye (Angie) and Ricky Frye (Amy); four great-grandchildren, Britt Frye (Alyssa), Nikki Steffy (Corey), Kaleb Frye and Jakob Frye; two great-great-grandchildren, Raelyn Steffy and Wyatt Steffy; a brother, Wilbur Maynard (Allene); four sisters, Edna Faulkner, Flo Bohannan (Charlie), Roberta "Bobbie" Stone (George) and Avanell Roach (Ray); and a special sister-in-law, Skipper Maynard. JOHN LAMBERT SKEANS, 96, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away at home after a prolonged illness on Saturday, October 7, 2017. He was born April 12, 1921, in Wayne, W.Va. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Skeans, his parents, John and Permelia Skeans, one brother, Otis Skeans, and three sisters, Cleo Skeans, Lola Watts and Prudence Christopher. John was employed by the C&O Railroad where he retired as Chief Car Distributor after many years of service. As a member of Baptist Temple Church in Huntington for more than six decades, he served in various capacities to include Chairman of the Board of Deacons, Board of Trustees and Church Treasurer. John was an avid Marshall University football and basketball fan and was an early-on member of The Big Green. He was a season ticket holder since the Fairfield Stadium and Memorial Field House era of Marshall athletics. He was a WWII combat veteran who served with the 87th Infantry, Golden Acorn Division. He fought at the Battle of The Bulge where he was the recipient of The Bronze Star for acts of heroism. He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Skeans, Gloria (William) Earl; one son, John Lloyd (Tamera) Skeans; two grandsons, Jeremy (Ladonna) Skeans, John (Marie) Skeans; three granddaughters, Melinda Meadows, Kelsey and Karli Skeans; two great-grandsons, Zach Simpkins and Nicholas Skeans. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his very special friends at the Sixth Street Bob Evans Restaurant, including all the kitchen staff, hosts, hostesses, waitresses and many of the regular customers. A heartfelt thanks to all the people on the Green Team and Geri-Pact team at the Huntington VA Medical Center who took care of John through the years as his health declined. A special thanks to the Hospice staff and personnel and to his special care nurse, Crystal White, for such loving care in his final days. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. William V. Earl and Rev. Andy Magnusson. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time. MARVIN FIELDS, 95, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Dayton VA Hospice in Dayton, Ohio. Marvin was born on March 11, 1922, in Kenova, West Virginia, to DC and Elizabeth Fields. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ann. Marvin and Ann were married in 1952 and she passed away in 1993. He is survived by his sons, William C. Fields and John H. Fields. Marvin was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Lieutenant from 1940 to 1945. He was also a 1949 graduate of Purdue University. Marvin was a traffic engineer for more than 30 years with the State of Ohio and a Fellow with the Institute of Traffic Engineers. Marvin will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, Ohio, on Friday, October 13, 2017, with full military honors. LEOLA FINLEY, 71, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was born December 25, 1945, at Holden, W.Va., a daughter of the late Wayne and Lura Frazier Runyon. Two brothers, Larry Runyon and Wayne Runyon also preceded her in death. Leola was a 1963 graduate of Guyan Valley High School. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years and love of her life, Walter Roy "Bo Bo" Finley; her children Angela Finley, Debra Finley, Glenna (Shane) Ramsey, all of Chicago, Ill., and Walter Roy Finley Jr., of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Jocelyn Andino, Kailee Nelson, Brandon Andino, Nicholas Finley, Kamryn Finley, Kalen Finley, Brooke Ramsey and Avery Ramsey; and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy. Also surviving is her step-mother, Juanita Runyon of Chapmanville, W.Va.; five sisters, Sylvia (Ronnie) Huybert of W.Va., Maudie Isaacs of Huntington, Carol (Philip) Adkins of Cove Gap, W.Va., Genoa (Harold) Keithley of Florida and Tami Jo (Michael) Vance of Lake, W.Va.; and nieces, nephews, family, and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank Cabell Huntington Hospital, Hospice of Huntington, and all the great caregivers at Heritage Center for their love. KIMBERLY SUE WARD, 60, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017. Kim was born in Huntington, W.Va., on July 15, 1957, and graduated from Huntington High School - Pony Express. She attended St. Mary's and Marshall's nursing programs and went on to become a Registered Nurse. Kim loved her family and long days at the beach. Kim was a proud and wonderful mother to three sons, who kept her busy and could always make her laugh, David "Christopher" Ward, deceased (Holly Ward), Matthew Lee Ward (his wife Candice) and Richard Kenton Ward (his wife Suzanne). Kim was the daughter of Jean Ann Harker and the late Richard "Dick" Harker. Kim was a doting grandmother who loved to spoil Sophie, Declan, Mason, Carrigan, Brody and Remi. She is also survived by her brother Richard L. Harker (Colleen), her cousin, Mark Brumfield (Annette), numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Services will be held at the Reger Funeral Home in Huntington, W.Va., on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., with the service beginning at 2 p.m. in the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bob McGlone. GENE AUTRY SIMPKINS, 76, passed away on October 9, 2017, in Huntington, W.Va. He was born on July 29, 1941, to the late Elsie Baker. Gene was a member of the Wayne County Coon Club. He leaves behind to mourn his loss Tonya Sowder, whom he took in at a young age and became her hero, allowing her to be a kid she longed to be as a child. Even though Gene was not her biological father, he was her father at heart. Thank you to the best dad, grandpa and great-grandpa we could have ever asked for in our lives. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Justin Lee Carter, Alicia Meece, Molly Sowder (Drew Maxey), Emily Sowder, Ryan Sowder; great-grandchildren, Braxton Carter, Levi Rowe; special friends, Nancy Janey, Greg Sowder and Mike Ward; a host of family and friends. EDGAR PERRY, 95, of Dunlow, widower of Sena Jane Ferguson Perry, died Oct. 9, 2017 in Huntington Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne; burial will follow at S.D. Copley Cemetery, Dunlow. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

PEARL JEAN HOLLAND MATHIS, 85, of Wayne, W.Va., left this world Wednesday, October 11, 2017, following a long illness. She was born April 18, 1932, at Genoa, W.Va., to the late George Holland and Laura Fields Holland. Pearl had seven sisters and six brothers. In 1952, Pearl married Clarence B. Mathis of Wayne and was a loving wife for more than 65 years. She was the precious mother of Teresa, Brad, Laura, Mark, Mike, Jennifer and Arletta. She adored her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who loved to visit and enjoy her home-cooked meals. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and put much effort into having the most beautiful begonias every summer. Pearl's life was dedicated to her husband, children and church. The family would like to thank the TCU unit at Heritage Center and Hospice of Huntington for their loving support and care of their dear mother. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Antioch Old Regular Baptist Church, Craig Road, Wayne, where she was a lifelong member. CHRISTI LYNN BAISDEN, 44, of Kenova, W.Va., passed away on October 11, 2017. She was born January 22, 1973, in Huntington, W.Va., to Charles Adkins and Sue Bell Adkins. Christi leaves behind to mourn her loss, her parents, her children, Brianna Robertson (Jerrod), Bailey Arnoldt and Brian Arnoldt. MACKEY "DOC" AKLEY, loving husband, father and grandfather, of Chesapeake, Ohio, and formerly of Kenova, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017. Mac was born in Lawrence County, Ohio, and graduated from Rome High School. He was a retired supervisor with American Water Company, an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, a former member of the Huntington Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Kenova Police Civil Service Commission, served as president of the Utility Local Union and was an active member of the Kellogg Independent Holiness Church of God. He was predeceased by his wife, Alma "Patty" Akley, daughter, Sharon Kay Akley, and stepson, Christopher Gue. He is survived by his loving wife, Manya Akley; sisters, Grace Williams and Helen Freeman; stepdaughter, Jacqueline Perdue and husband Harold; stepson, Adam Gue; granddaughter, Natalie Bevins and husband Tom; grandson, Don Michael Perdue and wife Pamela; great-grandchildren, Whitley Mayo and husband Dakota Stanley, Lacey Bevins, Savannah Thomas and husband Kasey, and Madison, Jordan and Aiden Perdue; great-great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Paxton Mayo; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and close family members. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, October 15, at the funeral home by Pastor Roger Mooney. LORETTA SUE CARTER, 62, of Wayne, wife of Calvin Carter, died Oct. 12, 2017 at home. She worked at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. GARY LAWRENCE ADKINS, 63, of Wayne, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Adkins, and mother, Ida Adkins-Thacker; two sons, Gary Adkins Jr. and Shawn Collins; three sisters, Joyce Adkins, Virginia Nicely and Phillis Nicely, and brother, Alan Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Tanya Johnson, of 21 years, daughters, Leea Adkins and Tamara Midkiff, both of Wayne; two brothers, Rick and Phyllis Adkins of Chesapeake, Ohio, Earl and Sandy Adkins of Wayne; two sisters, Betty Adkins of Barboursville and Debbie and Chuck Mace of Wayne; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of nephews, nieces and close friends. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, October 16, 2017, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister Darrell Adkins. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. LYLE TERRY MAY JR., 45, of Kenova, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on October 13, 2017. He was born in Huntington, W.Va., to the late parents, Lyle Terry May and Judy Ann Ross. He is preceded in death by his niece, Natasha Estep. Lyle leaves behind to mourn his loss, his children, Terry Wilkinson and Ciara May; his sisters, Tina Cornwell (Charles) and Candy Farris (Willie Rakes); his grandson, Malachi May; his nephews, Michael Farris, Shawn Johnson and Christopher Bryant; and a great-niece, Nevaeh Farris. LONNIE HUNT, 79, of Fort Gay, died Oct. 14, 2017. He was born October 22, 1937 in Louisa, KY to the late Wayne and Mary Short Hunt. He was retired from the Wayne County Board of Education where he worked in the Maintenance Department. Gay, WV, and Ruth Parsons of Louisa, KY, along with a brother, Alex Thompson of Ft. Gay, WV, four grandchildren Ryan (Whitney) Salmons of Prichard, WV, Kennah Salmons of Crum, WV, Austin Hunt of South Point, OH, and Jacob Eli Hunt of Huntington, WV. Mr. Hunt also leaves behind a very special great granddaughter Ramzie Salmons of Prichard, WV.

CLAUDE WEBB, 90, of Kenova, W.Va., passed from this life on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Claude was born the 12th of 14 children of the late Willie and Julie Hammond Webb on the family farm in Buffalo Horn, Ky., on May 29, 1927. His tales of growing up on the farm and all the adventures of the Webb brothers are treasured by his surviving family. Claude was a used car salesman for C-K Chevrolet, where he won many awards as Salesman of the Year. He was an avid hunter and champion checker player. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Felma Webb; son, Samuel Kent Webb (Charlotte Ann) of Kenova; five grandchildren, Sarah Webb Aleman (Vicente) of Piedmont, S.C., Katie Webb of Huntington, W.Va., Mark Webb (Ikuyo) of Huntington, W.Va., David Layman and Robert Layman, both of Kenova, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Mia Webb of Huntington, W.Va., and Matias and Joaquin Aleman of Piedmont, S.C.; brothers, Bill Webb "June Bug" of Louisa, Ky., and McClellan Webb of Lexington, Ky.; and a sister, Anna Bandy of Fort Myers, Fla. JOANE SPICER MONEY, 85, of Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia, passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Joane was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church, Kenova, and taught ceramics classes for 29 years at the Ceredo-Kenova Community Center. Surviving Joane are her husband, Donald Lee Money Sr.; daughter, Beverly Ann Shannon; son, Donald Lee Money Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Sonja Money; five granddaughters, Heather Dawn Shannon Morrone (Trey), Ashlee Rand Shannon Hutchison (Matt), Taylor Regen Money Dean (Dustin), Allison Shea Conley Davis (Zach), Karlee Rebecca Money; and 11 great-grandchildren. As an only child, Joane was proud of her large family. She devoted her life to caring for her parents, husband and children and always being her grandchildren's biggest fan. REV. LADDIE B. SMITH, 87, passed away in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va., on October 23, 2017. Laddie was born in Wayne County, W.Va., on November 8, 1929, to the late Chester Smith and Pearl Ferguson Smith. His brothers, Stanley, Thiele and David, preceded him in death. He is survived by sisters, Barbara and Dona. He married his first sweetheart, Arbutus Mills, in 1948 and they spent more than 50 years together and raised six children, who tell endless stories of happy childhoods filled with laughter and adventure. Arbutus passed away in 2005. Laddie embraced the call to Christian ministry at a young age and was a dedicated pastor and evangelist ever after. He believed that Jesus Christ is the Savior for all who receive Him and devoted himself to that message, serving and speaking at every opportunity. He conducted an influential regional radio ministry for several decades and served on the Board of Regents of Liberty University. His volunteer work in Senior Services at Cabell Huntington Hospital was important to him. At his passing he was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Kenova, W.Va. Laddie is survived by his wife, Frances. They married in 2010, and she is the dear companion of his later years. Frances' children are Richard Ruff, John Ruff, Tim Ruff, Debbie Adkins and Donna Spry. He is also survived by his children, Debbie Hackworth (Ron), Laddie Smith (Debi), Tim Smith (Barbara), Phillip Smith (Criss), Joy Pelfrey (Dana) and Nathan Smith. Their sister, Christina Fawn Smith, passed away in infancy. Laddie delighted in his grandchildren, Jeff Watts (Martha) and Andrea Watts, Carrie Safrit (Jeff), Adam Burcham (Shanna) and Scottiann McLain (Patrick), Isaac Smith, Andrew Leveridge, Ethan, Conner and Devon Smith, Hannah Angle (Wes) and Eden Smith. He was an all-around athlete and outdoorsman who loved sports and to fish. He was a charismatic jokester who was always full of life and love. He will be deeply missed. Lee had a special friendship with Selvin and Barb Carroll and Amos and Paula Lemaster of Wayne, W.Va., and a lifelong best friend, Jimmy McKinney of Wauchula, Florida. His fishing buddy, Lee LaForrest, preceded him in death in 2015. HILDRED THOMPSON ARTRIP, 96, of Genoa, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 31, 2017 following a long illness. Mrs. Artrip was born April 21, 1921 at Fort Gay, WV, the daughter of the late Pharoah and Ora Hunt Thompson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ruben Artrip who died in 1995 and two sons Billy Wayne and Roger Artrip. Hildred was a homemaker and of the Free Baptist Faith. Survivors include two daughters; Virginia Porter of Genoa, WV and Loretta G. Wellman of Fort Gay, WV; and two sons, Teddy Artrip also of Genoa, WV and Gary Artrip of South Point, Ohio; 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday Nov. 3rd at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Copley and Rev. Lemuel Little officiating.
